I never understood why autarky was considered a bad thing. What's wrong with being as self-sufficient as possible? It also means you need to waste less energy transporting goods.
@AKUJIVALDO6 ай бұрын
Because that makes your economy independent from globalists...that is bad according to them.

Autarchy and autarky are totaly different regimes. Autarky is much more of a socialist thing, e.g. Tito's SFRY self-sufficient socalist entrepreneurship (which relies more on influence of unions and state's party). Autarchy is self-sufficient individualism thing, spiritually adapting your own consciousness towards moral individuation of your own being (psychological one), while reaching toward materialistic economic equilibrium.

I think piracy will be great for the economy. Think of how many jobs it will create? Pirates and pirate hunters. This is how you create wealth!

wow so the Uk imports gas when there is no vison for peace in the middle east but wouldn't it be better for the economy /balance of payments and security if the Uk drills for gas in the UK
@davidgifford81126 ай бұрын
No it’s important that we don’t manufacture anything in UK to minimise our CO2 footprint. Way better to get China to make stuff in their coal powered factories then put the stuff on ships powered by heavy oil and let the containers pile up in disused airfields rather than growing crops on that land. Stop oil now, but only in UK.

yes, Germany agrees and has the same noble plans. Deindustrialization and saving the climate by raising taxes is the only way to achieve better living standards and prosperity.

Chinese goods are still cheaply made, but are no longer so cheap to buy. They got us hooked on their shabby trash and then jacked up the prices. ='[.]'=

> you move productions to cheap labor countries, > plants need infrastructure (road, houses for workers etc) and help develop those regions. > living conditions cost more money and demand salary increase > production/hourly wage increase and capital look for cheaper alternatives. Hong Kong, Japan, Indonesia, Malesia, China, Singapore and now Vietnam and Africa next. I saw Wisconsin (Milwaukee/2008). Graveyard of giant plants. City looked like zombieland. I ALWAYS supported local workers even I was an immigrant to another country. BUY LOCAL!

Its not just Chinese goods, its also 30% of oil by shipping. And oil isn't just for burning. We get plastics, pharmaceuticals, and more from it.

That's my point: we need to become independent/self-sufficient. We can't rely on hostile countries, especially China.

@@AngloItalianComedy that's a good idea but doesn't work when ur own government shuts u down for doing so. Most farmers can make more money throwing the food n the trash n taking a federal check for it then selling the food they grow....
@nmpolo6 ай бұрын
@@AngloItalianComedy I agree we need to be independent and self-sufficient but China isn't a hostile country. The West are the ones trying to provoke them in order to maintain US hegemony over the world.

Well,we blame the chinese, who just work hard like animals,and are victims too in reality we need to blame the goverment who allows the manufacturing to go to china to pay cheap labor, those are to blame,not the chinese people.@@AngloItalianComedy

Who dont like to buy good products cheaply . Either the guy is extremely rich or mad as a hatter !
@AngloItalianComedy6 ай бұрын
A lot of Chinese products are not good quality. 3-Pound T-shirts are not good-quality. They are just cheap, and people are bombarded by adverts into buying cheap, low-quality items more often, rather than buying high-quality items and holding on to them for longer. And my point was that we need to keep/revive manufacturing in our own countries, to have dignified jobs and be less vulnerable to foreign blackmail, wars, pandemics, and pirates!
