The Mob Museum

Күн бұрын

In this Mob Museum public program from September 10, 2015, John Alite shared the often shocking stories from his 25-year, front-row seat to the rise and fall of the Gotti family. Stories include how he:
- Committed violent acts as a Mob enforcer for the Gotti family
- Earned millions in rackets from New York to Florida
- Fled the country to escape indictment, living an extravagant lifestyle around the globe
- Turned government witness after capture in Brazil
- Was released from prison in 2012 and collaborated with George Anastasia to publish “Gotti’s Rules: The Story of John Alite, Junior Gotti and the Demise of the American Mafia”
- Survived the treacherous, double-dealing and corrupt world of 20th century American Mob

I've enjoyed the mob museum's speakers before but I am getting burned out of seeing a bunch of old street thugs being paid to talk about the things most should still be in jail for. This guy is still a lowlife. I've seen what happened in Gotti Jr's case and without that, this guy is still behind bars.

Guys like John Alite, Sammy Gravano, Michael Franzese, Frank Cullotta, etc. are all damn good story tellers. Each one of them and others like them aren't only sharing stories of their past lives, ultimately they're sharing moments in "modern" American History and a way of life that no longer exists. At times they tell the same story and each one has their own version but the reality is that unless you yourself were there to witness the event, you'll never know the exact and real story. Regardless, their stories stimulate our imagionations, putting us there on the scene as if we were watching it on a movie. LCN will likely never again be what it once was which is why the stories they tell really do need to be heard. THANK YOU, MOB MUSEUM for providing a medium for guys like John Alite, and the many others like him, to share their stories with us!! Keep em coming :-)

Why are you not on ANY video or audio recordings or in any surveillance pictures at the ravenite or any other mob hang out? Or any pictures of you with “other” mafia members besides the select few of you and John Jr just hanging out? Not one picture of you with John Gotti Sr? How come we see pics and videos of all the other “known” mafia members especially the ones close with and working directly for Sr but you are not in any? Just because you and he were in each others weddings does not mean you were their hitman...so regular friends and family cant be in or at a wedding? Have you provided ANY documentation besides your word that he “gave you up” because he may have cooperated does not mean he cooperated against you. You say jr never killed with his own hands but then say theres still an open case from a kid jr killed. You always point Out that “I did it by myself” its convenient cause theres no one to say thats not true. some of what you say sounds believable but most sounds exaggerated and unbelievable.

What maybe most people do not understand is whatever someone grows up INTO is their normal. Those values become their normal. What their family was becomes part of a person's normal. I never had a life as violent as This but .... because of my life, my family, friends I grew up with my normal is not your normal. I can only wish it was. Because of my parents I was a very angry person, and that was not my only problem. Who do you think I would be comfortable with, who 's company? Who would want my company? A bunch of Boy Scouts?? My friends all seemed normal to me. To you? Maybe not. Our life experiences may have been very different, but certainly normal to me. Some were con artists, Robbers of Many types, drug addicts, drug dealers, but to be honest I seldom look back and see any of them worse than legal businesses, like the legal drug companies who lied about oxytocin being addictive and Our government who really let them get away with it, no jail time and after paying fines still made 5 billion dollars, they are much worse than organized crime.

No he was not. John alite is full of so much ish. He has taken a few facts and spun out a huge narrative. This was 3 years ago, today he is talking about how he was Gotti sr hotman, lol. How Sammy is a piece of ish, when a few years ago he was the greatest guy. These rats all have their own little club and they protect each others stories. He talks here about the Ravenite tapes and how John was trying to put it all on Sammy. If you listen to him today the story has completely changed. Those tapes were about how Gotti was seeing what Sammy was doing and all the guys he was telling John to kill for whatever reason and then Sammy ended up with all their business. Remember John was in prison for a lot of the time he was boss so he was trusting Sammy on the street. He is finally seeing here that Sammy is betraying all of them for money, like he always does. Alite is a piece of shit for how he talks about the Gottis, none of them ever ratted. That’s why he hates them so much, he’s a rat and always will be. That’s why they turn now towards “helping the kiddies” it’s all bs. It’s to make money.

It’s controversial because he wants to do the right thing, but doesn’t understand or doesn’t acknowledge the truth that talking about doing murders and making big money will be attractive to young boys 100% of the time it’s brought up.

I’m glad there was a lot of emphasis on John Gotti and his drug dealing and distribution because the movies make Gotti look like a victim when it comes to Big Paul coming down on the Gotti Crew for their involvement in drugs. It gives a deeper perspective on the Big Paul hit. Gotti was no victim. He wanted to live by his rules and take out anyone and anything in the way of that. Good stuff John Alite ✊🏾👌🏾💯

Is it necessary to put up the (these are not the Mob Museum's words, we don't take sides) caption every other minute🤣? I doubt the Gottis will come after you for what John says. I believe John Alite and Larry Mazza more than the other mobsters on KZfaq, their stories are usually corroborated with names, dates or some other type of proof. John and Sammy are by far the best story tellers!

As hard as we work not to glamorize this life of misery, when a grown man talks about “baseball batting” someone, an insecure teen boy is gonna gravitate towards it. Being tough or resilient is important, but kids - especially boys - have to be shown the right path. A mob museum where some guy who spent half his life in prison comes and talks about making fast money, getting girls and committing violence is a sure way to steer kids TOWARD bad decisions.

I remember following these guys in the late 90s on Gangster websites. I specifically remember John Gotti Junior being a complete dunce. I used to watch recordings of them and prison interviews which were public domain and Gotti Jnr was the son Gotti Snr wished would have been smarter. For some context the website I used to go to had a midi music version of the godfather as you went on it. I was a teenager and was really inspired by goodfellas so I wanted to see if this was all real, so I found the website in question that used to be almost like a wiki. New info on the Gotti case, FBI pictures, and recordings the FBI submitted to the courts. I remember John Alite cropping up on that website as an associate and friend of Junior and I was intrigued and dismayed that they both used to dress in sports clothes and baseball caps. A far cry from the older generation. John Alite was definitely on that website and was profiled as a dangerous underground figure. When he started to do interviews on KZfaq in 2017 It felt surreal as I recognised him but couldn't work out how, then I saw his old photos and recognised him straight away. I Remember on that website that Gotti Senior died with a huge regret that John Junior essentially shelved himself and asked for an OK from his dad. Knowing that no one in that life is allowed to leave. The website then explained that Junior was talking with the police by that point and trying to move away from the Gambino family as his life was at threat. Him asking his father for 'closure' broke omerta because he was no longer Cosa Nostra. I do not trust what Junior says, I trust Alite, somewhat Sammy, and especially Mikey Scars.

Ive watched and enjoyed a lot of John's videos and I thought Gotti's Rules was an outstanding book. This is the first time I really saw the pain John carries from the life he lived. I don't know him and can't say if it's real but he does seem like someone who has difficulty with the choices he made no matter if he tries not to look in the rear view mirror.

So I get the accusations of embellishment and he was not credible on the witness stand. But then what about going on the lam for years. He must've known the government wanted him for something serious and also to live that way for so long he must've had a lot of money. Isn't it credible that he was sort of an independent street guy/ thug/ drug dealer like he describes himself?
