With the widespread stay-at-home policies and major changes to routines, things can get dicey and big adjustments have to be made, especially when dealing with autism.

I have autism as well and to be honest staying at home and doing school work to me 9 hours and 5 a day was horrible as it was a completely diffrent scenery. It didn’t feel like school. It felt as if I was being stabbed but emotionally I hardly did any work as I would just get to annoyed as the seats weren’t comfy. Awkward silence Monday- Friday until work was done. nobody telling me how to solve this or that. It was just like a emotional rollercoaster going on and on forever. Now I’m glad that schools have renopend as I’ve started doing work.

also fun fact: your family is a big inspiration for me, if i have never found your you tube channel i would have thought that we all had neurotypical siblings and no siblings to relate to, but no, your boys are lucky to have eachother and they're lucky enough to have a lovely, understanding family like you, im the only one of my siblings who's got Autism

my 3yr old grandson (who has autism) gets frustrated. He was taught by his ABA therapist to count backward from 10 and BLOW OUT after each number. We forgot he was frustrated and we were AMAZED he learned how to count backward from 10 😂 we could never teach him anything like that. We are learning so much. We also taught the same technique to his typical cousin. Most lessons are good for all children to learn as well.

I loved quarantine! I have high-functioning autism. Being somewhere that I liked really helped (A.K.A., My house). I would get very homesick at school. I was never a fan of being at school. I graduated in 2020 (from high school), and I was happy that there were not a thousand people in-person watching me get my diploma. I would always bring a cat toy to school (before Covid), for comfort, to remind me of my cat, Oliver, when I had to be away from home, and my pets. I kept that cat toy in my backpack. I also hate it when people change the schedule on me. My parents have to be careful when scheduling some stuff (they have to tell me in advance, or ask me about it). I commute to my college, and I live at home, plus, I work. At first, I did not like the sound of virtual learning. But, then, I found out that I loved it! I am also 100% Introverted. I am a homebody. I love being alone in my room, with my cats (Oliver and Nigel). We have a big backyard, so we had an area to burn our energy (we live in the country). We have a lot of games we play, like Bocce Ball.

Y'all are not just phenomenal parents y'all are phenomenal people and I have so much respect for y'all. I love your family. This channel is going to help my best friend out so much as he just found out his 5yr old daughter is autistic and he needs help. I don't even know how I ended up here but it definitely was for a very good and very much needed reason. I started noticing his daughter shaking her hands when she was about 2 but we just thought it was cute. But as she got older she started having other symptoms such as the melt downs and laying down on any floor and refusing to use her words. At that time we thought oh boy the terrible 2s have turned into horrific 3s. Him being with her every single day he didn't think anything of things but me only being around half of the time I could tell something wasn't quite right. When I mentioned it to him you'd thought I'd just started a war. We didn't speak for days for the first time ever. Then he says he just started noticing the things I'd brought up more often and even other things I'd never seen her do but that he said he'd sat and thought "I don't see the other kids at the park do 'this or that' etc. So he got her a doctor appointment and he'd given her the iPad so he could speak with the Dr. and her be occupied and before he could even start to tell the Dr. about his concerns she had done something on the iPad that excited her and she did the hand shaking and the Dr. immediately told him that he believed that she was on the spectrum. My friend was floored as he'd not even spoken yet. Then the Dr. asked him why he made the appointment/what his concerns were and my friend told him the hand shaking thing plus all the other things she'd started doing the past 2yrs. She just turned 5 and he's a mess. He doesn't know what to do or what to think and beating himself up for not thinking the hand shaking thing she'd started 2yrs prior was a thing. I told him not to beat himself up about it but just deep dive now into research and how he can help her. His biggest fear is her getting made fun of at school as she starts Pre-K in a couple weeks. I bought him some books and sent him a bunch of links to things but he really needs more. Then somehow I wound up here and I come from the true crime community 🤷🏼‍♀️ What a blessing it is that I did turn up here though because y'all's channel will help him so much. I'm very grateful for KZfaqs weird algorithms today lol. ♥️ God bless y'all and thank you thank you thank you for doing this for others. Outstanding. xo

i've got Autism Spectrum Disorder as well and i was worse than all your kids together, i couldn't get any work done because i felt that off schedule and like i was in the wrong place that i had no motivation to work at all, however i could do the smallest bit of mathematics, having the facts be that it was my favorite/favourite subject in school at the time (i love to cook and im in high school so i get to do cooking which is one of my favourite/favorite things to do)

Poor guy is so stressed out. Never been to this channel before so I have to inquire are there any meds that have been suggested that could help with his anxiety/anger/stress? Cannabis? I watch codySpeaks a lot and I know meds have helped him immensely. God bless u all

I know this was three years ago, but does Ian still hate timers and do the boys teachers modify their work according to their own needs and this dislikes because it’s too difficult? I know it seems like a stupid question but I’m just wondering because he almost seemed that he had no choice, but to use the timer three years ago, like it wasn’t an option, so I was just curious.

Lolz I have autism too and I can assure you he is not as upset as it seems he is just on the wrong diet! I want him to try this nutritional diet for two weeks you as his parents need to be very strict on this... THE DIET FOR TWO WEEKS -no caffeine drinks or foods -no carbonated water or drinks -no fermented foods -no excess sugar or salt -no milk or anything that contains cocoa -Stop all stimulant or antidepressants Pls do a 30 sec video pay day for 2weeks tagging each day on the video this will by the end of the 14th day show the progress Their might be withdrawal symptoms just give him green healthy leaves and remember to perboil his rice off excess starch After this I will tell you what next to do 💋💖💋 I pray the universe works his wonders on him
