Autocar ACX - Amrep HX-450-FL Garbage Truck w/ The Curotto-Can

Since the Pacific Northwest has been trapped in one of the longest, coldest, harshest winters on record, I decided to flee the snow and ice for a couple of weeks and head on down to sunny Southern California! While down there, I was able to film dozens of cool garbage trucks in action! Here's the first video I'm uploading from that adventure, featuring an Amrep HX-450-FL front loader on an Autocar ACX cab and chassis! This truck is setup for residential collection, outfitted with a Curotto-Can - a very rare treat to see paired up with an Amrep front loader! This truck is seen here slamming its way through a residential recycling route!
Here's a big thank you to this excellent driver for allowing me to get some video of his truck in action!

Good on El Cajon for being able to keep the tarp in good condition for two years already haha I think they're the only ones who kept them on out of all the yards in SoCal. Awesome video, really enjoyed seeing more of this truck. He sure can move!

El Cajon definitely seems to take a lot of pride in their equipment, I was amazed at how fresh all of the trucks looked from that yard! And as you said, very rare to see one of those Curotto tarps still in nearly pristine condition lol! And your absolutely right, this guy hauls! It was a workout and a half trying to keep up! Glad you enjoyed the video!

living in central Oregon, I did experience that winter. We couldn't even bring out our trash cans for a month!

The revving was so entertaining! Especially when the fan kicked in! I like how fast this driver is with this truck and how he keeps it in such good condition. Nice job!

That driver is really skilled! Great find! at 2:30, is that a Wittke Crocodile?

Very skilled indeed! His operating style made this truck extra fun to watch! And yes, that is a Wittke Crocodile in the background, I'm sure we'll be seeing more on that sooner or later ;)

This is a great video! Dang this guy operates good! It was really cool to see him in the begging for moving that cart around. Your really lucky you got to go to CA for some sun lol! I'm really curious to see what you post next! You make awesome videos!
