The MG GT and the GAC Empow, two identically specced models that have a ton of features as well as driving dynamics in tow. With both of these cars being so similar, it's no wonder that Caco beat Jack up just to come to a conclusion. Now, this video was shot before GAC upped their prices for the Empow. Looking at the rear, it's like Benz (MG) vs Lexus (Gac)...performance wise, I like the sportiness and interior clean lines of the Empow...as well as the torque...so Empow wins ..for me.

That’s just the GB variant of the Empow. It’s not even the top of the line GE yet which has 18 inches wheels, a different grille design, real quad exhausts and the list goes on.

That's the problem though. Even the mid-variant is more expensive than MG GT's top of the line, what more with Empow's top of the line? Though I prefer the overall design of the Empow's top of the line, but the price difference would make you hesitate.

@@WheelHeadd few things to take note though. Even the mid variant of the Empow has ADAS, AEB and Lane keep assist. Also the infotainment system of the MG GT is on the laggy side with no physical buttons or knobs for the AC control. I like both cars, I just want to pick the winner and in my book it is the Empow. But I really do love that Yellow paint job of the MG GT. 🤙

I prefer the MG GT because of the looks. But, power and speed is the advantage of the Empow and it also looks good. If these sedans sell well in the Philippines then maybe it will entice Geely to bring the Preface Turbo. Now that would be above the Empow when it comes to performance.

It’s actually kind of weird that Caco gave the win for the MG when it comes to tech and safety features. The only advantage that the GT has with the Empow is the 360 camera. It doesn’t even have ADAS, Lane keep assist or AEB..

Exactly!! 360 camera is not much needed for a sedan since its not that big of a car like and SUV. But ADAS, lane assist and etc those are useful things in city driving esp in expressways

A comparo, already? AD, that's hella quick. MG should be the better looking and despite being subjective, looks tbh should be awarded to the GAC. It simply looks and sits better than the former, where fitment is 101% whack. Sure, a proper set of coils or lowering springs will fix that and a better set of wheels, but the GAC already gives you a perfect look without spending more just to achieve that. ... and the fake exhaust tips looks worse on the MG, for me at least. Both are still a bummer why they had to make it fake. Both are great vehicles nonetheless and are very tempting propositions as Chinese compacts, but overall I'd say GAC just because based on experience, their products just feels better in build quality and driving dynamics.

That’s the GL variant which won’t released here. The top of the line here is the GE, yes it has the Matte green color but it doesn’t have the full panoramic glass sunroof. What it does have is the partial sunroof found in the GB variant.

GAC just came out the 2.0T with 8AT. It is fast and powerful. Slower than Mercedes A45 but faster than golf GT

I love how the Chinese cars are making the market more competitive, from an MG 5 owner here, the fact that my car is worth only 750k, , I have a touchscreen infotainment, a rear cam, a big frame and a lot of space for a car under the subcompact sedan segment plus it's a CVT and just overall a good looking car is crazy. At that price point I would either be driving a somewhat base model vios/mirage with a lot less features and less stunning looks or maybe a smaller vehicle. Honestly, the future of the car industry in the coming years is gonna be very interesting.

When I'm in the city driving, I want it to be more relaxing kinda mode. But I'm on an open road trip, I am also into more sporty mode. Well, not that much but enough to keep my focus while enjoying the scenic views. I'm in between these 2 lovely cars. Therefore, I'd rather get another brand.😢

anung tech ba hinahanap mo? basta may 6 airbags sulit na. kesa ibang japanese cars 2 lang. bano na driver lang naghahanap ng kung anu anong safety tech na yan. honda city nga kulang sa tech tas halos million na presyo. tas CVT pa na mabagal sa up hill. yan dapat tgnan ng mga hapon. di porke sila nauna e di habang buhay sila lage ang hari.

Nvh, anti pinch, toe to toe speed or on track to finish the deal. Fuel Capacity. Having a Sunroof is a big deal. But nowadays it's just demoted and not a big feature. Sorry to non sunroof cars.😂 AC is not discussed while in emGRand era this is a big deal also. NCAP Review must feature in all turbo and must discuss also.

MG6 with 164HP/250NMTq is the competitor of Empow and they're in the same category of Civic, Altis, Lancer EX, Elantra, etc. MG GT(it's also called MG5 in other countries) is the predecessor of MG5 which is in the same category of Vios, City, Accent. Empow and GT should not be compared as they're not in the same category. Would it be right to compare Vios to Civic? 🤦🏻‍♂️

GAC empow na katunog ay siopao na gustong gusto ni empoy..😊 ang gandang sasakyan tpos ang pangit ng pangalan.. sa kabila ky MG GT ang pinangalan meaning Gran Turismo..pang racing na name.. sana ginawa nyo na lang NFS instead na Empow.. NFS means Need For Speed.. pra match cla ni MG Gran Turismo.. magiging GAC Need For Speed vs MG Gran Turismo.. yan ang dpat.. hay naku mga tsikwa hnd nyo pa ginandahan ng pangalan..😊

@@JSA2091 Maybe, but the real competitor of the Empow is the MG6. MG GT is the predecessor of MG5(it's still called MG5 in other countries) and it's in the category of the Vios, City, Accent, etc. Try to search Autodeal's review on MG6 so you'd know what we mean.

That is the real overkill. empow vs mg gt (g6 or whatever they want to call it ) is still a fair comparo based on the powertrain,weight,features heck even the price range.
