Two of the UKs most popular AIO (all in one) products are going head to head!
They are tested on truly horrendous paintwork, let's see which one does best!
Tested both by hand and by a machine polisher.

Don't just be a COCKroach and hide under your rock! I'm not suggesting my videos are perfect, but I seem to get the same appearing at the same time on pretty much every vid. Not a fan of these types of product, but as you alluded to, worth having in your arsenal for those odd times.... Always rated AD over AF so was surprised by your result. A good test.

If you haven't tried it yet, you've GOT to try the Rupes Uno Protect! That knocks the stink out of both of these! Hell, it kicks the hell out of Sonax Perfect Finish for correction AND lays down a sealant aswell!

Very interesting Dave... Agree with you 100%, I'm not a huge fan of 'glazing over', I'd rather correct but it's not always practical.. Or even safe on some paintwork!! I was surprised that the AF by hand actually seemed to be on par with the AD by machine! Granted I know the camera doesn't pick everything up but certainly looked that way! Not what I expected at all!

Great little demo. Like you said there's definitely a place in market for AIOs. Many people don't have the time and money to machine correct so it's the next best thing. Polishing a whole car by hand certainly does take alot of stamina though!

Yeah I normally have some sort of idea before I start, but not in this case, I saw them both on my shelf after a recent "re-juggle" and couldn't decide which I'd use if I had to. So out came the bonnet and the camera. 🤣

What pads are you using & what would you recommend in terms of firmness of pad?
@DetailingandtheBeast

On these they are autofinesse pads. For actual machine work, I use a mixture, microfiber and foam, various different levels of firmness/aggression. My pads are a mixture of Lake Country for foam and Meguiars and autobrite for the microfibre.

I’m not a fan of Glazes either however they will play a big part in detailing soon , reason is new cars are coming with paint that’s thinner and thinner, so we won’t be able to correct these cars over and over again and glazes will be a big thing soon

Nice video mate again, AF do get some stick in other quarters about products. I don't have any of there's and on the AiO it's all about time. As you stated before you can't keep going at the paintwork so these products have a place. Might be worth a pop, stay safe mate 🌈🌈🌈

@DetailingandtheBeast
@DetailingandtheBeast 3 жыл бұрын
Just to address the stick they receive too as I think it's a very interesting discussion point, and something I have thought about before. The grief they get is not entirely justified in my opinion. Are they the best products in the world? No. Are they the worst? Very much no! Far from it. I think a lot of it is that its "cool" in some cases to slate the brand (rather than individual products) and jump on whatever bandwagon is rolling through at the time. I also think it might have stemmed from two things... 1. Jealousy, when AF started to "sponsor" cars, a LOT were turned away for that sponsorship because quite frankly their cars weren't up to the AF standard. This then led to a fair amount of animosity. 2. When they started selling in Halfords. I think some see this as some sort of inferiority??? Autofinesse (like autobrite too in a not too dissimilar way) is a cult-like brand with cult-like followings (autofinesse do the "look" much better though, and their brand identity is bulletproof strong). This can be seen as a bit "clique", and some people dont like that when they are on the outside of it. Let me know your thoughts. 👍
@philipdemarco9222
@philipdemarco9222 3 жыл бұрын
@@DetailingandtheBeast Can't really complain about your statement mate! Yes instead of the brand its more about individual products and let's be honest if it good its good no matter what label it has on it. Snobbery is a problem in the detailing industry and unfortunately people turn there noses up at brands that's not niche or in at the time. I read that AF don't produce there own products, not sure if true but if they use another company to produce a product and it works and the price is right then i don't see a problem. I have a few AB products as they are great and yes it's like a cult following but i purchase on the point of value and what i need. You do a great job mate and being honest and personal is refreshing on all fronts.

I was going to say a similar thing. 👍 I machine polished/corrected my paintwork a few months ago but don't have a paint depth gauge so I'm reluctant to go over it again when the eventual swirls start appearing so a glaze will do nicely. I have a bottle of HD glaze, they're local to me in Norfolk, it's good stuff. 😎
