It's been a minute, but I'm back to talk more about my autoimmune hepatitis and my treatment. I have also been attending some great meetings through the AIHA and can't recommend it enough!

Hi there, I have been on azathioprine since September of this year I am currently at 200 mg per day. This is my first treatment for psoriatic arthritis, so I was looking for other peoples experience with this medication. I’m glad you’re doing well on it thus far, so am I. May I ask what dosage you’re at?

Sending you lots of care. For AIH the dosage is about half of your body weight in mg, so I'm taking 75mg/day, which sounds like a lot more than you are taking!

I was diagnosed with autoimmune hepatitis after liver biopsy 11/2/22 AST was 454 and ALT was 899 and started on 40mg prednisone and and just started 50mg Azathioprine on 11/24/22 with 40mg prednisone and i go for labs around 12/5/22. my alt and ast are slowly coming down. I wanted to thank you for your videos. i also have an anxiety disorder for around 20 years now. Did you talk about what vitamins they recommended to you? the prednisone has me all weird feeling and was wondering how you felt. hope your doing ok i will keep you posted as things move forward. i subscribed to your channel 👍

Best of luck as you start the treatment, and I really, really hope the medication helps with your enzymes. I'd recommend checking out one of the AIHA videos on supplements. I've been meaning to do an updated video on the topic, but at present all I take is a multivitamin. There are a lot of false and/or unproved claims, supplements are not regulated, lots of people with no medical or research backgrounds are grifters... be careful. I'll share more in an upcoming video but I probably wasted ~$5-7k on things that did NOTHING. @@SarahCarr what part of treatment are you in now is it only Azathioprine or still both and how are your enzymes doing. only share if you want hope all is good with you

@@marksedgwick8704 Hi again, I've never take steroids for AIH (I took them for another condition), so it's been aza only this whole time. I am waiting for my Covid to clear and then I'll know if my enzymes are back to normal. They are just above normal as of 6 weeks ago.

I was just diagnosed with AIH and am so scared. I’m on Cellcept now and I’ll be getting my first blood work in 3 days to see if it’s been working .

May I ask why you don’t take a multivitamin with vitamin A? Which vitamin do you take please??

I take a standard multivitamin that has only the beta-carotene type of Vitamin A, at the guidance of my hepatologist. That's it!

I am in remission! AIH is not curable, so remission is the best possible state!
