thanks, a very useful video, well done ! I have been searching for a while for help of this sort, specifically where do the balls go and how many are there supposed to be. Turned out my carb was missing one ball, l have a stash of small parts from carbs l have worked on in the past, found exactly the ball l needed in my stash, works like a charm now. l use this carb on a '63 Mercury pickup with a 223 engine.

Thank you , thank you, thank you!!! This video helped me solve my starting issue. Cause? I was missing 2 of the check balls. Now my 1961 ford Falcon Tudor wagon starts and runs like day #1!.

thanks for the vid great explaining rebuild .mines is missing the check weight it runs bad at idle is that prob i just rebuilt it and there was not 1 in it when i tore it down i bet i have a time finding 1

I have a 6 cylinder mustang since 2 weeks, had some carb problems and cleaned it a few times, when i saw this video and the difference between the ball sizes all problems were solved😂👍

i have this 1100 in my f100 bought the kit but when i open the carburator it didnt have a ball on the dashpot the kit didnt came with extra check balls would it make a difference if i dont put it

I have a A/T 1100 on my M/T 1966 Mustang. I've bumped out the 2nd dashpot to deactivate. Does it still need the check ball? Reason I ask, I'm missing the ball by the SCV. Wondering if I could swap 'em...

Inside the same problem as frank Ramirez but I have the balls no weight??? I took the carb apart and it had nothing in it .

When you did the tear down in part 1 you had four check balls. In part 3 rebuild you only used three check balls. Was the forth not supposed to be in there?

Yeah but yours had four in part 2. Are you saying we can omit the fourth ball?

This rebuild went from a two diagram to a one with only 3balls from four

Gotta be flexible sometimes, I suppose. I noticed the same things too. Whenever I rebuild a carb or something similar, I always have one or two little bits extra leftover, and I find it best (for my sanity, and marriage) to take those few extra parts and throw them into the woods behind my house, and never mention them again. This strategy has worked for me for years. YMMV.
