If you are using DC to drive the relay / contactors then you should put a diode across the coils to stop any back fed EMI spikes into yoru DC power source. Any rectifier diode will work for this: 1N4004, 1N4007, etc. If you are using AC you do not need a suppression diode across the coils. This option may be more viable for some in 24VAC due to this voltage being ISO in HVAC relays and contactors which are easier to obtain new or by salvage and typically have higher ratings for load and duty cycle thus making them more relaible than those light duty relays used in the video. 12 / 24 VDC automotive repalys should NEVER be used to switch loads on the AC mains circuit or loads with voltages over 32 volts AC or DC. Though these relays are redily available and tend to have high load current ratings, they are not designed to be used with voltages over 32 VDC nor to be used with AC loads as these usually have a built in diode and arc suppression also us not there. However these are perfectly fine if your loads are 12 or 24 VDC like for lighting in a motor home or RV camper to switch between battery and 12 volt power supply, or 12/24 volts PSU/Charger and a Solar charger for batteries, Another is switching between battery banks so recharge can take place. Solid State ATS: instead of mechanical relays you can use PNP and NPN power / switching transistors or N and P channel MosFETS for DC load circuits and TRiACs for AC load circuits. This removes the mechanical aspect of the system. Of course these solid state devices need proper heat sinks and maybe even cooling fans as they will create heat under load.

I used 12v adaptor to activate relay... everything works fine... only thing when main power (mains) fails adaptor takes 2-3 seconds to discharge its current results delay in change over stitch of inverter and hence my tv set top box reboots and i have to wait untill it reboots to reset my desired tv channel! When power resumes it works fine! How do i discharge capacitor instantly?

No it is not working. When 9v batterry connected, line one ok. It is needed to use 2nd line 9v connection should be detached. Send the real diagram.
