It's so good to see your back posting videos. When I first started building transmissions 10 years ago I think I watched every one of your videos even the ones in Spanish and I only speak English LOL you are a great teacher. Thank you for taking the time to do these videos they've helped me more than you know

Very nice information and information,very good solution for the heat of South texas or Australia,when I was working in Canada we cover the radiator to help to reach the temperature of the engine and transmission(many of the new truck don't let you select the gear until the normal temperature is reached to avoid damage by heavy viscosity)we also use transmission oil for all the hydraulic equipment...

I throw away all the internal parts. Tap the lower internal bore with a 1/2 inch tap. And plug the hole. You can also use 1/2i inch cup plugs and drive them right in. I prefer the threaded plugs. Works perfect with no chance of a spring failure since there aren't any there. Good video. I enjoy seeing the way others do things.

I actually did the plug, I have a video on the Spanish channel showing how I did those. The channel is "Transmisión Automática", I couldn't add a link to it. But your method does work well since there's no risk of the plug getting dislodged since it's threaded, specially if you put loctite on it. There's no restrictions at all and you have full flow.

All these videos on the bypass, and I have yet to see even one go into detail on the proper fluid level checking procedures, which is almost the most important info…..to not be under or overfilled.

I just had this installed in my 2015 gmc crew cab 4x4 with the 6l80, but it is running hotter not cooler i used the shift tech product part# stl010. It has gone all the way up to 217, and is back down to 189. Is it possible that the shop put the spring in backwards and that is what is causing this problem? Help please.
@John-xk7uo2 жыл бұрын
Where can we get that spring?
@jewllake Жыл бұрын
I used the stl010 in mine. One thing I've always wondered about the pill flip. If the trans would get really hot, above 190*, would the little rod expand and have the reverse affect and shut off the cooler flow? Just curious.

Good idea. There will be a day in which that thermostat fails so good idea to disable it before it does. Sure does Make you wonder how automatic transmissions made it this far after 70+ years without one of those.
@AutomaticTransmission2 жыл бұрын
Actually, I have 2 TECHM's that were damaged because of it. I guess part 2? Showing what could happen 🤔?

Do you do HP tuner adjustments on 8L90s as well? I’ve seen your 6L video where you’ve made adjustments.
@AutomaticTransmission2 жыл бұрын
Yes, but on some newer ones you need to send it to HPtuners for unlock service. I have file I did a Denali, I'll post a video on it when I get a chance.

If you don't think that thermostat can give problems. You haven't worked on many 6L80/90 Transmissions.

@@mrwhite2628 I meant the valve created the problem. And you are right ,I haven't worked on many6l80 or 90. I retired 13 years ago after running my shop for 37 years.
