I open these videos thinking I'll find ONE tip to help out, then come away with 5 or 6! I'm fairly new to Reaper, and I'm loving it more every day! And kudos for all these tips still being functional as-shown four and a half years later! (I had already figured out how to convert my play rate dial to a slider.) ;)

These videos really blow my mind. All this time trying tempo mapping when I just needed to auto the play rate. Then find out I don't even need Vinyl for a tape effect. Wow

Is there a way to do a scratch effect in time to the music? i.e. play it live with the playback and then save it?

question about this... I used the master envelope to slow the song down, with just the music tracks. I came back a week later and recorded vocals on a new track that I added...but now the vox track won't adhere to the master envelope! I tried to delete the points but then it speeds up the vocals! what is happening?!

Hi! This video is really helpful thank you! Hope you can help me. I'm struggling with an issue, all of the sudden the sound quality of the audio track has become really bad, maybe this is something related to the play-rate but I don't know how to fix it. Do you have any idea?

Hi KeNNY, I want to create a ritardando and an accelerando in a single wav file, is this the only way to do it? because I've tried with time changes without any luck... Saludos!

So I tried to do this in Reaper 6.26. Doesn't work. When my transport reaches the point where the slowdown automation is supposed to happen, the transport bar does progressively slow down, but the audio also mutes completely. Any idea what I'm doing wrong?
@anonymouse5273 жыл бұрын
I'm trying to use this method to add a slowdown at the end of my "rock" song. I tried different "resample modes" in Project Settings and latest version of Reaper. But I'm still getting audible artifacts. Any ideas?

I wish we can do that playrate automation in an individual tracks as well as instead of a master....

Sounding great, problem is that if you want to do it within a specific time, because it also slows down the bpm
@jessepoulton2247 жыл бұрын
You can figure out target playrate by dividing target tempo by current tempo eg tempo is 110 and you want to slow down to 100: 100/110 = 0.909090.. You might not be able to get it 100% exactly with repeating results, but close enough.

Hi there - Is it possible to automate the playrate of a particular item without affecting in the entire project? I have a track with some demented laughter that I want to speed up/slow down...
@Legaiathan-yu7kj6 жыл бұрын
Tedd VanWagner pitch shift it
@EndaReilly7 жыл бұрын
Thanks for that Kenny. Excellent as always. I presume you could simulate flanging with this?
@REAPERMania7 жыл бұрын
Not really because it effect the whole project together. Flange requires one version to modulate while another version isn't.
@EndaReilly7 жыл бұрын
REAPER Mania I see. You'd need to render two versions and play them in a new project?

Changing playrate doesn't seem to able to be reverse with the undo feature...? So much to learn...but Reaper really rocks, much preferred to other DAWS.
@rune2886 жыл бұрын
Hi Kenny. I can't ssem to volume within an existing media item anymore. i used to be able to draw in automation on an actual item but can't seem to get the pencil to come up. does this feature no longer exist in the new versions of reaper???
@Renardsurleweb2 жыл бұрын
same here. I used to do that 5 years ago on a single item, not on the Master track. Any one knows what happened ?
