The plaintiff and the defendant are siblings. While the plaintiff was in jail for a DUI, she asked her sister to get her car out. Unfortunately, the plaintiff says the defendant stole the car and title, so the plaintiff is suing. The defendant insists her sister asked her to put the car title in her name, so she did.

JM got it wrong - she said she told them to get it out, BUT she never signed the title, because she didn't come to the jail. She said her sister forged her name. That's the part that JM missed in his emotional breakdown

The plaintiff definitely had a victim complex going on but I also feel like JM wasn’t listening. She said that she wanted them to get the title and put it in their name but that they forged her signature instead of allowing her to sign

I can't stand people like the plaintiff, who act like because two people are family, neither should be held accountable. The defendant rescued her nieces/nephews, as she should have! We have so many adults in our community who suffer from trauma that they experienced in their childhoods, and so many of them say, "So and so in the family knew it was going on but didn't do anything." It is our responsibility to call CPS when CPS needs to be called. It is our duty to hold our relatives accountable for poor behavior. Depression is real and serious, but it makes you no less responsible for the wellbeing of your children. Good on the defendant!

I really hope the plaintiff gets some help. She’s had some very hard hits in life but the children definitely deserve a healed and healthier mom. We have to take care of ourselves so that our children won’t suffer from our dysfunction or trauma. ❤️

The plaintiff should be cooking her kids breakfast, lunch and dinner everyday and taking it to her sister's house to feed and bond with her children. The plaintiff is so ungrateful. The defendent is a beautiful person and soul.

I've been tuning into body language experts dissecting witness testimonies and spotting liar behaviors for a couple of years now. While I'm no expert, the plaintiff's body language was screaming "sketchy" right from the start. For instance, at 10:50, she said "yes" but shook her head "no." Talk about mixed signals! And don't even get me started on her reaction when the voicemail was mentioned-pure comedy gold!

If those children were unwashed and rotted teeth that means it was years of neglect. Wonder why it took her so long to step up and say something. Maybe she was trying to give her a chance to get it together. Don't sound like the dad any better he riding around with her and the kids in a drunken state. She had 3 people pass in a 2-3 yr span pass away?? I, myself, became severely depressed because I had about 17-18 relatives & friends pass away..that’s including a friend who committed suicide & not even 3 wks later, my 25 yr old cousin passed because of a massive heart attack!! My then 10 yr old son wasn’t taken away from me, I didn’t turn to drinking, I got help & went to counseling & took antidepressants for almost 6 months. I think this woman came to court drunk!!!

The plaintiff obviously makes poor decisions. I can tell based on how she presents in court. That plunging neckline reveals her huge tattoo on her chest. I suspect that the tattoo is too expensive for her and likely could have gone toward the health or dental expenses of her children. The placement is a poor decision. Braids are probably at least a couple hundred. At least. Her kids are in a better environment with her sister. Being poor with kids should always result in the parent(s) denying themselves all pleasure and materials to provide for their kids. Sacrifice everything for those kids since no one told you to participate in activities that could result in having children prematurely meaning before you are financially able to care for them.

?? Deny ALL pleasure and materials"?? The plaintiff is not a good example of a mother, IMO. However, your parental requirements are rather EXTREME. Her braids and tattoo (I don't like tattoos personally) are not her problems. Her alcoholism and negligence is the main problem. Poor people with children have pretty good health and dental benefits that they don't usually have to pay for. Her children were deprived of those benefits because of her alcohol abuse-fueled negligence.

I know all the girl was supposed to been a better mother. The lady said she doing better. No one is perfect. I'm glad she doing better. With that said. Judge Mathis know that she didn't suppose to sign the title on her own. That's not the law. He is a judge that is supposed to go with the American law. This is why In say the law isn't right in many ways. Now that lady doesn't have a car when she get her kids back.

Mathis had his mind made up about the plaintiff from the very beginning of this case, particularly when found out that child services took her children away. He just wanted to fight, argue and chastise the entire time. The plaintiff had no chance here.
