Track mods are one of the coolest things I have done in AMS2 so far, and this mod, California Highway, which has been brought over from Project CARS 2 is just so much fun! I have been playing around with mods in Automobilista 2 for a few days now, and this combo with the Radical SR3 is just an awesome time, and you should definitely give it a go!
Content Manager has made modding AMS2 so simple now as well, and installing track mods is just as easy as car mods. Simply put the zip files in your Mod folder, run the Content Manager exe and it will take care of the rest!
I hope to see some fully custom-made track mods in the near future, let me know if there are any I should try!

I purchased the entire collection and was wondering where you think I should start because so far it hasn't been the $100 simulator I thought it would be

@BLACKV0YD Idk man, pick a type of motorsport you like. The vintage formula, rallycross, and touring cars are some of my favorites. Not sure what you are expecting though

After coming across this video I had to get both the Radical and the track. I was not diappointed! Thank you. In VR with a motion rig IT IS AMAZING!

I wish one day we can create our own tracks. Simple. Easy. Use Google Maps data and have a track builder like Minecraft. Imagine making a track of the city you life in…

AMS2 is my go to race sim now, with all these moddere doing amazing things.....its brought it to life...KEEP THEM GUYS.....fantastic. OWW Nick well driven ,,downloading now to give it go.

Does the FFB/physics of AMS2 felt in this mod track? In other words if I am driving an official AMS2 car on this track, do I get similar FFB/physics? Or is it still based on the FFB/physics of PCARS 2?

The physics model is tied to the car, so official AMS2 cars will be the same, however you may get some rough FFB depending on the smoothness of the track. For example in this video some of the corners were quite bumpy which sent the FFB going crazy at times.

Great video. Are you using clutch at all when shifting? Do these classes of cars require clutch irl?

The car does have a clutch pedal IRL I believe, but no, I was just using paddle shifters without clutch

Hmmm, is this on the new 1.5 update? I wonder if that may be the cause? On the mod website it will say which version each mod is tested against

Many of the track mods do not support Practice or Qualifying sessions (but some do, so...?). That's a bit disappointing, but it seems that once you select one of these, the next time you go back to a regular track it has turned off your P and Q session option. Then, after annoyingly reactivating them, you discover that the P and Q detailed settings have also reverted to default and will need to be manually reconfigured...over and over. Is this just me, or does everyone experience this?

Will these mods still be playable after each update. Or do we need to always re-install CM?

Depending on what the update changes, and whether the boot files are changed will determine whether mods continue to work or not. For a lot of updates it’s just a matter running the content manager exe again so that it reinstalls mods. However, major updates like the upcoming 1.5 may cause more issues with mods, but we’ll just have to wait and see what changes.

@@NickGrabau They're supposedly making it easier to run mods over the next few updates, making it unnecessary to mess around with bootfiles. PCars 2 tracks are all well and good, but when AC conversions start coming out, man oh man... huge world opening up.

@htak2010 That would be awesome if they simplified it, also meaning mods may transfer better between updates as well. If we got some of the AC mods ported over to AMS2, that would be next level, fingers crossed!

Yes a lot of these mods do work in 1.5, but on the mod site it says which versions it’s been tested in, so could be hit and miss. Apologies for the late reply!

Not quite like Assetto, most mods come from Project CARS 2, as they share the same engine, but it’s been improving over time! Hopefully we see full custom mods soon enough
