It's not AI, it's quite a simple process of making cuts in the video based on the waveform audio (who is talking) and simply making the 1 and 0 guess that you want to see whoever is talking on screen. That's like Plural Eyes syncing audio which came out over 10 years and nobody was calling that "A.I". No mention of "A.I" at all on the website either.

Certainly interesting. I don't think I'd find it as useful (yet), I already edit a 3-cam pod in multi-cam and usually at double speed. And if I'm going to have to run through an AutoPod cut anyway just to check its work (for ex. I don't think we needed to see you say 'yeah' in the middle of his story) then I'm happy to just do the initial work. I'd be interested to see how it develops though, and how it does with mic bleed. Pretty awesome. I don’t edit podcasts, but this type of AI assisted editing is fantastic. Frees up so much time which results in more time spent doing other important things like bigger projects with tight deadlines or even scouting for more clients. Major companies like Adobe and Black Magic Design need to buy these small start ups or design there own versions of this software and implement it natively.
@MichaelDrowley
@MichaelDrowley Жыл бұрын
Blackmagic design is leading the way with auto transcribing and then you can create an edit cut from the transcription. It’s an absolute game changer for me as I do quite a bit of medium to longish form interviews and often cutting down an hour of interview to a 5 minute final cut.

Does this AI look through the folders of clips in the footage pool and automatically make a multitrack timeline from it all? I shoot weddings and am looking for a faster way to catch up with my backlog. I use Sony Vegas Pro 18 but am willing to change platforms. Typically, I use three video cameras (all Sony A7IV and A7C) which have Rode Wireless Go radio mics attached to all of them. I use gimbals for the preps, drinks reception, bride & groom walkabout shots. I use three cameras to film the whole ceremony, speeches and dances. I use drones for the venue footage opener and endings. I also use the music used on the day under license for offline copies to the customer. It takes me about 5-6 hours to edit a 1hr documentary movie with all the 'on the move' parts of the day cut in time to music, and the full ceremony, speeches and dances muilticam. When I do the gimbal parts of the day, I like to cut the clips for being in time with the music, mostly in 50% slow motion and to make sure that the cut is a clean single direction gimbal movement (I tend to slowly move and rotate the camera around the subject in a circular parallax kind of way). Will there be something that can learn my style and do all this for me?

It’s amazing! But I don’t think it’s AI per se, more like great programming IF Joe speaks, THEN cut to Joe’s camera, etc etc. it’s a lot like the abiotic Premiere et al can sync audio files and how you can build a comp automatically in AE from a Premiere sequence using dynamic link. Also very much like Automatic Duck did this in the late 90s. Also intelligent Assistance and other scripting extensions from decades ago. BUT it is Way cool for podcasts etc ! I’ll give it a whirl when I don’t need the creative choices of a true multicam workflow.

Thanks for the demo! The tech is intriguing, but it's got one BIG limitation, in that you HAVE to have unique video and audio tracks for each "camera". Meaning if you use something like Rode Wireless GO mics that merge the audio into one track in your camera, it literally won't work. Hard to understand why, given in your demo it appears to be making all of its cuts on the VIDEO and doing nothing to the audio tracks. No idea why it would have to be so limiting in this specific way.

In Resolve Studio, you can have a feature called workflow integration where you can automate editing based on some scripts that you can write, so if you have more than 1 audio input, one for each person, I don't see how this wouldn't be possible as well. Cool regardless.
