Great review, this is not an Audi advertisement, this a non biased auto enthusiast who is simply stating facts. BMW and Mercedes-Benz really need to watch out. This car is hands down one of the best I have ever driven period. Absolutely no one in the industry can match Audi's quality. I can say this after getting rid of two BMW's. I am glad to call Audi my favorite automotive brand. There are no words to describe my new A6.

I've driven the 2004 A8 with a 4.2 litre diesel engine and thats when I fell inlove with Audi.Driving an enormous luxury limo that with all the luxury has beast acceleration is priceless. This right here is a masterpiece of art.

Having had a 2010 and 2012 the 2012 is head and shoulders above the 2010. Design, technology, features etc.... Performance wise the biggest change was switching to the ZF 8 speed automatic so a little better fuel economy. Engine wise pretty much a carryover the next major engine change was around 2015-2016 where they went from 310 HP to 333HP. I need to find another 2012+

For full size sedan I prefer S-Class Mercedes, for big sedan I prefer Audi A6, for regular sedans the BMW 3-series.

its a matter of taste at this point in time. my heart is all into audi ever since my first a3. currently driving a ttrs, which is just awesome!

audi dealer gave me one of these as a loaner, the supercharged version ,and its very quik ,and accelerates so quik and smooth,i got a ticket !!71 on a 40 ,the trunk has enough room for two car seats plus more,and it less expensive than my q7 ,totally fell in love ..i think audi does this on purpose to keeps us coming back!! anyway great car great feel and accelerates awesome

Wow awesome review! The radar cruise control is what got me..WHAT better wish is to have the car drive itself in bumper to bumper traffic. Amazing.

as an all rounder, this is by far the winner. has everything including a nice design...and the interior is by far the best...and a huge margin to what is next to it...for once..a new car that does not disappoint...but everything else makes up for it...id buy this baby for that interior alone

The exteriors from Audi are nice, very classy and modest. But it's noting with a wow factor. The interior on the other hand has exactly that! It's a perfect combination of little gadgets and classy stylish materials. That how I like big cars; not screaming it on the exterior but be like a king in the interior! Beautiful car, I hope I can afford one one day :P

Interview has been done very well in a very high professional level. It was very interesting to watch. And Audi is Audi and it's quality no question. I like it very much.

yeah its 41,700 $ but its the base price so without any extars such like LED lights massage seats camera for reverse driving etc and its a 2.0 TDI i think. mine below that i talked about was the base form of 3.0 TFSI and with all the extras that i checked price exceeded 100k with all the stuff.

I apologize. The BMW's i was mainly talking about were the ones that came out a 2 or 3 years ago or whenever it was that they changed the styling on them. I just went to the website and the new ones that are in production now do look very good. I have always liked the 3 series but once it got up to the 6 and 7 thats when i thought they stopped looking nice but the new ones do look better to me. However I must say I do love the look of the Audis in production now.

To answer a previous question. Yes Audi's are FWD, with the exceptions of the Quattro options across the range and the RWD R8...

Just bought the '12 A6 in Havanna Black... amazing handling, power, style and design. Very pleased with the ride vs. BMW, a close comparison, but this car in black with chrome trim, 315 HP engine with Prestige package.... is much more of a car than the 5 series.

I bought the 2012 Audi A6 premium plus with the S-Line and this car is amazing. Top notch quality inside and out. Amazing interior and the car handles amazing. All german cars are nice , people have their own taste in cars and that's fine . Stop the negative talk and move on with life.

@Amidat Yes I know I have discussed this already with the gentlemen above. He stated that the Audi A6 could surpass or price out to $100,000 which couldn't be further from the truth. My statement was that here in the US the top of the line Audi A6 meaning the 3.0 TFSI (Prestige) doesn't go any further than an estimated $73,000.

thats whats missing from a lot of other high end cars is a NICE interior... Audi is on top of there game where thats concerned!

I absolutely love the ALL NEW 2012 Audi A6. It is stunning, intelligent, and great to drive. I hope soon I will be the proud owner of this vehicle.

@WhiteWarrior1314 That is the European entry level version of the A6, in the US Audi standards are distributed differently compared to other countries. I'm almost 99% sure the Audi A6 comes with a sunroof standard.

In the ad I was like .. Yay! it has everything a bad driver needs!

Also, they want to use a common cylinder block between diesel and gasoline models, even though the gas ones do not need such a heavy block. This, together with the engine which hangs transversely half a meter in front of the front wheels (as the platform is common with the vw passat and scoda octavia) show how "important" is the issue of handling to audi.

@thestoryteller612 , You're right on the money! Audi always seems to have some outstanding feature that beats all other makes, but then when it comes to the overall package they still come up short. It's a third tier German brand, and that's not a bad thing considering the competition. They're in good company.

I don't consider myself as cool, but AUDI is simply a fantastic brand !! Look at all that's still to come in 2011: Audi B8 RS4, new A5, new Q3, and hopefully the all new Audi Quattro. IMHO the ultimate stormtrooper-car ;)

I'm driving the 2011 a6 limo 3.0 v6 .. It's a beautiful car and goes like a train .. The active lane control is a bit unnerving but switch it off It let's you play ..

@iimprezu This car is AWD and the platform is NOT used on any VW and will be used on an upcoming Bentley.

@M0D3R8A i know, and for the A7 in Europe you guys have the 7-speed DCT, torque vectoring rear differential, and air suspension, we dont get any of that, same story with the A6, so if i want to buy this A6, i have to go with the S6 which is more expensive and hopefully they will offer these as standard on that car

I love how everyone ripped on the iDrive then copied it... I have the 2nd Gen (still 1 button) in an E60 550 and think it's the cleanest looking system on the market. Response is slow, but the new version fixed it. Only have a couple buttons on the dash which are the ones you need. So clean.

@LexusLawyer componentry sure... as does bmw with mini, rover (in the past) and husqvarna while we're at it uses an ASF with magnesium and aluminum beams... (which is which its so much lighter than a BM) which incidentally is NOT found on any VW brand... the a6 frame is actually the same as the A7 (which in turn is quite similar to the porsche panamera) the entire line is made for quattro all wheell drive and only a tiny minority are fitted with CVT transmissions for front wheel drive

The A5 is actually not a 3 series competitor. the A5 is a slightly shorter 2 door version of the A4.

Where is the sunroof?

I believe the problem with the A6, and all Audi models, is the sporty suspension which reduces the overall ride quality, without dramatically improving the handling. The styling of the A6 is mature and modern, but the rear resembles the A4 rather than the smoother A8. I would still buy a 5 series over the A6, but personally the class leader for me is the Jaguar XF, or maybe that’s just because I’m English lol! Great Video btw (:

@TheSkraner i have audi S4 with summer performance tires, they work fine in winter but dont recommend it, cuz sometimes you dont get traction, its like driving a FWD car or RWD for sometime, so just get winter tires for the winter and you will be more than great

@BMWrocksalltheway Gotta agree with you on that comment about the Audi's tail light. The back is somewhat irrelevant compare to the front. The tail light has reminded me about the Maserati's tail light, minus the clear lenses. I'm expecting the tail light to be a bit larger, or has individual LED bulbs like the head light. Hope that Audi is going to improve the look on the tail light.

I do not understand where the comment about Germany comes from. In either case. audis and vws are made using the same platforms as all of the group models, scoda, seat, etc. If you had spent some time to get informed, you would knew that they introduced the new MQB platform exactly to facilitate this. This is VW speaking, not me. they have replaced two times their golf, because "the rear suspension was too expensive".

We all have to respect BMW couse is very class car! But In past 7-8 years Audi become the king, BMW is still here but these years are AUDI's years.My dad has 2010 A6 2.0 170 HP and the car is just perfect, modern, attractive and very good for driving.Nice acc and nice top speed.In one word PERFECT ! AUDI 4 Ever!

got to drive the 3.0tdi 2012 A6 yesterday and I must say that its amazing. No hate to bmw(I love Bmers) but I do believe that the new A6 is better than the 5 series in almost every way.

I agree i got the new A6 2.0t premium plus and its gorgeous... BMW and AUDI are pretty much the same thing but Audi is way better in the interior, and exterior is gorgeous. BMW is more sportier but Audi is the best of the two Luxury/SPORT

The debate about which car is better, A6 or 5 series is a bit silly. It's like trying to decide which icecream is better-vanilla or chocolate...you really can do no wrong with either car. There are both magnificent machines and it's only a matter of personal taste and little details that decide which you would rather have of the two.

Remember the Audis of the 80s and 90s? Audi has come a long way, but I still don't think they're there yet, sorry Agent.

@GCr4ckeR Nope sorry I beg to differ. I dont know where you live but here in the states the Audi A6 is only available as a 3.0 TFSI engine with a starting price of $41,700. Opting for the top of the line A6 meaning the "Prestige" trim line which starts at $56,780 will only allow you to opt for exactly $15,275 of accumulated options when fully loaded at $72,930 to be precise. I have no idea where your getting that $100K number from unless your confused with the Audi A8.

i tell you 1 thing ,my wife,his bro and my mother are in the auto industry,my mom is head of quality assurance and my wife works on the finishing in the same company-they produce interior parts for BMW and VW in Austria/Kennelbach/Faurecia and his bro project in Katya the machines for the chassis production(VW,BMW,Ford,Toyota),BMW interior parts made in austria in the same company (Faurecia)with VW,engine in germany,chassis in china,brakes in taiwan,rotor in china,not the same story with VW

vw also own bugatti, lambo, bently, some other small companies, and they just bought ducati a few weeks back. they are the biggest car group

I had no preferences as to which car i wanted so I test drove the Audi A6 and the BMW 535 and even though I think the beemer looks better I ended up with an A6 I don't know anything about cars or why bmw and audi people seem to be at odds (they're both fantastic cars) but for me the A6 rocks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

@mazinq75 - what are you talking about? 60% torque to the rear is the default... and can go to as much as 85%...

Looks nice, only not sure about that weird leap at the back of the trunk at 3:35. Also that wood maybe looks better in person, but first impression is not very keen.

ive driven the 550i xdrive and the audi a6 and the bmw takes the cake hands down. its sleeker funner to drive and handles well. the audi feels sluggish and like your driving a freaking boat. plus all audi ever boasts is there stupid LED lights. its basically down to what would you prefer? a car or some LED lights

@n00g7 the A6 starts at 42k, the 550i starts at 62k....please do a better comparison. The 535i starts at 51k and has 300 hp, sooo which is more overpriced?

i've liked audis for a while, and the new generations of audis are no exception, but i don't know if i'd own one for the fact that it seems like too many people now like them too. personally i think it's fun to own something that isn't already owned by tons of other people.but man, cars like this and the a7 really make it hard to still not want it.

Ok that's your opinion. I've got the BMW 525d xDrive and I really love this car. I do not want to argue with you. Audi is still good car but I prefer BMW.

The new Audi technology is so much ahead of BMW. I just bought a 2012 A6 Avant Bi Turbo. I test drove the 535d and it has nothing in comparison. The Audi is a class ahead. The doors don't even close nicely on BMW's these days. They rattle. Audi's still have a solid door shut.

Price for A6 2.0TFSI is started from 73000$ in Russia

The front fascia looks great and I'm a BMW fanatic. One critic, though; the back doesnt look as good. well, that's my opinion.
