Mid October saw BR-built Pannier Tank No.9466 - now under the ownership of Jonathan Jones-Pratt - move from the West Somerset Railway to the Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway on a long term loan basis. The move to the GWSR was most appropriate, given she was allocated to Worcester shed (85A) from new, so she may well have seen service along this now preserved section of the former Honeybourne to Cheltenham line during her BR career. Following some mid-week testing, paired with 7903 'Foremarke Hall', she was put into service on her own during the final weekend of October. She was appropriately paired with a rake of 8 maroon MK1 coaches, giving a pretty accurate representation of a Cheltenham to Paddington express, worked between Cheltenham and Gloucester by 9400 Class Pannier Tanks in the days of steam. On the day of my visit, Sunday 27th, I was blessed with some utterly gorgeous autumn conditions, a total contrast to the absolute drenching this part of the country received the previous day.
