The answer to the fuel gauge "delay" when filling up is the same reason the engine temp gauge is also "delayed". The reason being that if the gauge read 1:1 every time you went over some bumps and the fuel slushed around or up/down a ramp, your gauge would be swinging back and forth. Same goes with the engine temp, the coolant temp fluctuates up and down constantly with getting to temp, then the fan kicks in and it dripping down heaps then back up and down. If a customer was to see there engine temp gauge following the engine actual temp 1:1 they would freak out. This was explained to me by a engineer from the Kenworth truck factory when I was an apprentice.

Maybe some clear vinyl hose can be used to temporarily test fuel flow to verify fuel does/doesn't flow the way it needs to in those lines.

do a search for fuel tank potentiometer and locate a sending unit that matches the depth of your Aux fuel tank, there out there in the industrial world, for tank applications. Thanks for your KZfaq content.

Transfer flow tanks can have the option of a digital gauge for inside the truck. They might make a universal gauge kit.

measure the depth of your tank and go to a heavy truck dealer and get a universal sending unit that is adjustable in the it's length and drill a hole in the top on a flat area and then run your wiring to a gauge in the cap .

Most of the time I use wrenches and adjustable wrenches for all types of lines and fittings

Fuel gauges for boats would be a place to start.

What size fuel lines did you use for inlet an outlet on you fuel pump? Also what fuel line did you use to feed your regular tank.

I twould take a Chevy fuel pump and sending unit and Chevy fuel Guage and wire it in that way

What would you recommend for a welder that is a dual 120v and 240v for working on vehicles? Also I don't work on small engine deisel only semis but the systems are very simular in general.

To be totally honest I have only ever used 220v mig welders before. I know a lot of guys have been reviewing those YES dual voltage welders lately, but I just can’t say enough about the Lincoln power-mig 260 I use at work.

@@RustbeltMechanic the thing is at work I use the Miller mig 260 I think or its 230 but I don't have a 240v at my apartment garage. Only 120 at best. I bought the flux/mig by Campbell Huasfield from menards and just wondering if it will work when I do it on my vehicles.
