For a property that's seen its fair share of disagreements, it's incredible to see how Massive Entertainment has leveraged Avatar to create a compelling open-world adventure.
Almost everything, from the exploration to the side activities, is captured well, offering a unique perspective and take on the genre. Though the combat may bear more than a passing resemblance to Far Cry, movement feels good.
Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora does have some issues with its gear system, gathering mechanics and side quests, but it's still a fun experience.

I'll pick it up when it's a little less pricey. It looks exactly like what I expected. I'm not a fan of the films, but I love exploring beautiful virtual worlds like this with some nice headphones.

It's a Ubisoft game for better or worse. In less than 2 months it's gonna be on a discount and some patches will be released by then. Maybe at 30$ Ubisoft

Gotto love ppl that didnt even try the game to give it a score and moneys worth and advice this or that. Noone cares, ive bought it and will be playing it and probably finish it in two months and move on to another game while you wait for the bugs to be worked out. Who cares? So you want an updated game, patched for its bugs, given new free content AND you want it to be 30 bucKs? Lmao. A cola was 0,50 € 20 years ago, now its 2,50 €. Marlboro cigarettes were 5€, now theyre 9€. Games were 30€, but you still want games to be nought for 30€? Bro you gotto change jobs for money and friends for the mentality... im free this weekend, wanne drink something together...?

@@RidoDrago everything is more expensive so it’s nice to be able to save some money by waiting some time for the price to go down. There’s enough games to play. I don’t need to play every game at launch. Most of the times I wait for a definitive exertion of games with all dlc. So I only have to put in the money once and get the full experience

Excited to play this tomorrow! Getting immersed in the world of Pandora is all I would ever ask for from this game. The Far Cry like secondary gameplay elements are a nice bonus

Only two rideable mounts lol this game was hog tied creativity wise. Expect this to be extremely boring and lack the content that will be sold to us via DLC. Wait for Ultimate edition sale this time next year for 19.99

I gotta say when you read game reviews in the comments the amount of hate for a game is just disgusting! One person will not like something there is someone who will love it. That doesnt make a game horrible it just makes it not for you. And us gamers love games so love them not bash them. Would you be happy with no games?

I mean this uses the Snowdrop engine (aka The Division 1/2 engine) which I feel is one of the most underrated and underused engines out there.

It’s been a fun game so far, I would like more mission variety and it’s actually quite hard to get through the early missions. You feel underpowered, but it’s clear this is on purpose. However it is stunning, especially the mission where you get the ikran. It’s the first game that actually makes you stop and stare on a regular basis. It’s a shame they didn’t do all the cut scenes to the same quality as well, some are far more polished and some run in game. It’s a bit jarring to see one that looks incredible and then the next looks far worse.

COPY & PASTE = LAZY DEVS! I bought this game and I'm sure I'll have fun. That said, there is no reason for devs to keep using the copy & paste routine when endless Gigabytes are at their disposal in 2023. I could understand it in the 90's with limited cartridges to save memory, but not today. Every location should be entirely different with it's own unique assets. Games like Skyrim, every dungeon is the same, they just change the layout. And most all huge open world games today follow this same lazy technique and there is no excuse for it. If there is one thing that ruins an open world game and makes it boring real fast, it's copy & paste locations. After half a dozen or so, gamers lose interest because they're not seeing anything new, no variety. Every enemy stronghold looks like the last one you just defeated. Devs are getting lazier and lazier.

@@ImTheDirtySecret Cool story. They both got mid reviews. In a year full of insanely good games, they are well below average. Ubisoft doesn't seem to be capable of making any Game of the Year nominees any longer. They just stick to the same formula over and over again, just reskinned or changing between 1st vs 3rd person perspective. Least original big publisher out there.
