Azula is a straight menace. She strolled in after beating the Kyoshi warriors, overthrew the city and took over their military, eliminated the other leaders, manipulated Zuko, didn't hesitate and let the "Protagonist powers up for several minutes" trope happen, AND she ended up on top while the heroes ended this season with a major loss. That girl knows how to manipulate people. "You were never even a player". Absolutely fantastic character.

Despite the fact that l've re-watched this show many times, I still can't help myself feeling disappointed at Zuko every single time, after everything he went through this season he goes backwards. Now imagine how Iroh actually felt here. Still feel bad for Zuko too though. He endured a tough life and it is common for victims of abuse to become dependent on their abusers.

Sometimes I can’t believe how Toph INVENTED metal bending! Toph bending metal is one of my tavorite moments in the series. Toph, because of her blindness, not in spite of it, has a far more spiritually enlightened relationship to earth than other benders. She doesn't just see rocks, Toph sees everything with her bending unclouded by things like appearance. Thats why she can tell when people lying, she can trust Iroh regardless of nation. and she can tell that metal and earth are made of the same stuff. Its like the guru says, division is an illusion. And Shin Fu telling her "even you can't bend metal" parallels her conflict with her parents. Toph's bending for her is FREEDOM. She knows who she is, and doesn't let anyone move or shake her. When she steps, it's the earth around her that moves, not her. And no cage, no supposed disability, no expectation can hold her. It’s like she said, she is the GREATEST EARTH BENDER IN THE WORLD!!!!

Aang did let Katara go so that he could accept the cosmic energy. He has to be pure and unbiased. The Avatar is judge, jury and executioner. So, having emotional ties to one group or person just won't work. They need to be impartial and just. Zuko reverting back to his normal was understandable. He's spent 16 years being the good little Fire Lord's son. He deviated once and it costs him everything. He's gone through a lot over the last few months and was kinda reborn. But, as with many abused people, Zuko ran back to his abusers and abusive situation the first chance he had. Look at real world battered wives or abused children. They cling to their abuser like glue. Or, an addict falling back into bad habits. It was more realistic that a few weeks of freedom from the mental shackles of being the "loyal" son didn't hold to even the first test. Aang did indeed die. There are two levels of medical death: Clinical death: Either your heart stops beating or your lungs stop breathing. You have about 4-6 minutes before the nutrients and oxygen is deplete to your brain. In the real world you'd start CPR to try to keep the brain and organs supplied with oxygen. With no intervention you proceed to biological death. Biological death: You are now brain dead. There ain't no coming back from that. Katara managed to heal Aang enough to fix his cooked body and restart his heart and breathing within that timeframe. If she was delayed even a couple more minutes Aang would be dead dead.

Azula trying to kill Aang created a plot hole. Everyone know if the avatar dies the cycle is reset which is why Zhao just captured him. Only Aang knew that killing the avatar in the avatar state ends the cycle. How would Azula have known that?

When i was a kid (like 7) i thought katara and zuko kissed in the cave so when i decided to watch its again at like 17 i was shocked but remembered her and aang. Now 20 i like both relationships
