This was by far my favorite show ever when I was young!! The casting looks incredible, vfx looks awesome as well, and the fact that they’re clearly gonna show EVERYTHING that’s in the cartoon series is awesome! This makes me very excited to see all of the spirits 😄

Yeah, the runtime is as long as the first book in its entirety. There will undoubtedly be changes, but the "Amount" of content will be the same. Which is what the live action needed from the jump.

I cried so much out of pure joy! Hasn't come out yet and already I'm so hyped and teary, just from the trailer alone it's giving the Original the respect, dedication, moment it deserved. From saying the characters names right! Getting there personalities! Sokka being the goofy guy we all love to see! To them actually smiling?! Characters coming back to the screen like June, Bumi, Jett, Suki!! All beloved characters, being able to see Zuko's scar! And the fire Lord looking terrifying and like an actual threat. Uncle Iroh looking so sweet, to the frickin bending actually looking so sick and smooth! More lore the better seeing the air Nation being attacked- I was around 12 when I watched it for the first time with my sisters when my grandpa got us the disc from the library and ever since we would go every week to get a new one. To see one of our childhood shows being brought to life with the respect it truly deserves makes me so excited- and now 18yrs old my sisters and I can't wait to relive it all and watch it all over again. From the trailer alone I am not disappointed and so very excited to see all of our characters come to life and hope to see more show up like Mai and Tylee, the cabbage man haha those small details make such a big difference and I'm truly so excited and grateful they took the time to first of all watched the show! And make it with the respect the original deserves! 🥳❤

Now this is how you do an adaptation. I was apprehensive about this adaptation because I thought it be like M. Night. Fire benders with torches, fighting scenes that don’t move quickly, and everything. But… I. Was. So. Wrong?! I’m so happy to be wrong. I have to admit that I have a feeling that the show isn’t going to hold up. I was watching the trailer with an open mind but there is just something in the back of my mind, maybe the acting? But THEN when the voiceover said that line “I’m going to save the world.. with my friends,” I got chills. Nothing gets me more than a “power of friendship” theme and I’m genuinely glad they are leaning into that. Not to sound too much like Katara but.. it gives me hope 🥹

@@anisa2273 I'm not really implying the actor was failing at it (he's clearly more of a 'Sokka' than the previous one)-- he does seem to capture some of Sokka's sarcasm energy, and I do hope he suceeds with his portayal. I'm just saying the magic of Sokka's characterteristics like being a center of attraction even during serious parts but not ruin the MC's moments, and being a comedic character that also helps elevate characters during serious moments (he's conversation with Zuko comes to mind. His chemistry with Toph too.) is something that seem to be really hard to replicate for this Live actions. I don't doubt this version will have his comedy-gold moments, nor that he will have some serious stuff but, not in an unusual way as the Cartoon Sokka did. Hoping for the best outcome for the show, of course.

@@danielgutierrez1861 yeah but you gotta consider if the tone is a little more serious (which it kinda seems to me) they are going to take out some of the cartoonish humor cadence which is what sokka relies on. Theres not going to be a lot of the background sounds to emphasize his lines either so they gotta switch it up.

I'm generally against live-action 'remakes', and especially the ones that do nothing different but faithfully recreate the original, like, why not just go watch the original. But this is very quickly becoming an exception, if the One Piece one proved anything this treatment DOES have an audience, mostly the 'cartoons are for kids' people who miss out on some amazing stories because it's animated, and if any story deserves a broadened audience it's this one. So faithfully recreate away!

It sounds just like the original too; maybe not word by word, but it keeps the spirit intact. Also, I love that reference to the opening sequence with Aang crashing into the rock statue

⁠@@ssjcostyBig emphasis on the “if” tho. Its better then the last live action as im sure most can agree. Ozai and the bounty huntress look absolutely spot on. Iroh and Momo also look pretty solid. However, im unsure about Zuko and his scar doesn’t look that good in my opinion. Bending looks pretty decent i guess so far we haven’t really seen anything to crazy. Sokka and Katara are light skinned and have blue eyes but the actor’s look decent enough i suppose. Maybe they could edit their eyes and make them blue to look more accurate. Sokka’s lines are good. I liked the moment where he said his line and took a bite right after very much like Sokka would do, but the actor doesn’t seem to have that Sokka energy when he says his lines. Just my opinion of course but it looks pretty mid to me so far. Not too bad but not really good either. I could see them doing og dragonball when Goku was still a kid tho.

Thing about the eyes goes for everyone actually. Water benders have blue eyes, fire benders have have a yellow/golden ish eye color, Aang grey-ish since he is an airbender and earth benders have a green-ish eye color. Maybe not the biggest concern but it would definitely make it more accurate

Oh man. I never got to watch much of Legend of Korra, but I vividly watching The Last Airbender episodes as a kid. Not all of them. But enough for it to stick with me and remember the general plot. I’m not going to pretend that the Shamalyan movie doesn’t exist. It did exist. And while kid-brained me only liked the costumes and sets, adult me realized how so much was cut out a changed. And that only saddened me. This right here was everything to me. I just got flashbacks of inviting my family and friend group over, where we would watch a few episodes from a few books. Around that time, we were also anticipating for the ‘new’ series coming out, Legend of Korra. I absolutely cannot wait to relive a part of my childhood again!

I absolutely love this version. I binge watched it and loved every episode. In all honesty, it is by far the most EPIC live-action of Avatar: The Last Airbender. It was done right, and they couldn't have picked a better cast as well! My ONLY opposing opinion about live-action Avatar adaptations is when actors who portray Aang, hit puberty. The adorable voice and cuteness of the character ends. This is why we can't even get to Book 1. Unless they do voice rendering to Gordon's and Dalla's voices and editing to keep their images to portray the consistency of the original Nickelodean show. Otherwise, again, I seriously love the show, and I really do hope they have more Seasons/ Books!

They're pulling no strings with the cgi, the weapon involvement and all of the characters. Seeing The Kyoshi Warriors wielding the War Fans and Jet blocking the fire with his Hook Swords. The combat scenes are going to be an eye to behold. I can't wait for this!!!

You sit down at a chair amongst other potentials, fill out a form, wait your turn and do what you’re told. It’s quite monotonous, short-lasting and uninteresting. Indie production auditions tend to be a bit more fun and unexpected, and there are usually actual conversations involved.
