பொன்னியின் செல்வன் கதையை 5 இரவுகளில் 1965 ல் படித்தேன். அட்டை படம் மற்றும் கதையில் வரும் ஓவியங்கள் பார்த்துக்கொண்டே இருக்கலாம். வந்தியதேவன் எப்படி இறக்கிறார் என்பதை நந்தி புரத்து நாயகி என்ற கதையில் படிக்கலாம். பாண்டி மாதேவி என்ற நாவல், நா. பார்த்தசாரதி எழுதியது படிப்புதற்கு மிக அருமையாக இருக்கும்.

I've been watching a few of your videos and you sir, have always presented facts as is without your take on it. A true historian in the era of "alternative facts" ! Kalki's real name was Krishnamoorthi. His wifes name was Kalyani. The name Kalki was derived from the first few letters of both.

Sir, As usual you have narrated the story behind the historical story in a lucid style and convincing manner.This is your signature style. Maniyam’s sketches of the characters are superb. His son Maniyam Selvan has stated( in a preface to Ponniyin Selvan -5 volume brought out by Vikatan Parasuram in art paper- a collector’s delight) that Maniyam used to visit Kalki’s house in Adayar every week , show him the drawings , get his views and after approval, send them for printing. Even Rajaji had complimented Maniam’s drawings in a preface to this novel( Mangala Noolagam edition) saying “ Maniam’s pictures will make the reader tear and steal the pictures( from libraries).. Originally Chandra was to draw the pictures but an opportunity was given by Kalki to Maniyam.. and his creations live in the minds of all readers . What a immortal contribution by the author and artist!!
