This is the assembly of the knife made by KZfaqr "AvE." The "knife" is sold as a "blade holder" and comes in parts that need to be cleaned up and assembled. It is made of stainless steel and titanium parts and is designed to hold a 25mm or 1" snap-off blade.
AvE has a few videos about this knife and the assembly of it. My video shows the clean up of the parts, the assembly, and my thoughts on the knife.
I took a bit more time to clean up the parts than AvE does in his assembly video though the total time was not more than a half hour. I could have taken more time to get a mirror finish, or to make the edges perfect, but I was running short on time, and after all, it's a utility knife; I plan to use it not look at it.
The knife has a nice weight to it and feels very solid. The action on it is rough at first but gets better if you take the time to sand the internals and I assume it will get smoother over time.
A couple things that I noticed that could be improved are that the screws protrude out the back, the edges are not very clean or line up well, and I'd like it if it had a belt clip.
Overall this knife is very nice looking and feels nice in the hand. The push-button action is smooth if you take the time to get it there. It's pretty close to "one-of-a-kind" at the moment but I know my coworkers will be asking me where to get it. The price is steep for a utility knife but taking into account the materials and the quantity being made I think it's worth it.

Great Video, thank you. Great description of how someone who uses these knives often evaluates them. I'm just using it to cut up boxes, and I realize I'm way overpaying, but I don't mind supporting a YT channel that I've enjoyed watching for a long time makes it worthwhile (I have no use for stickers, mugs, etc.)

AvE's production guy could make the blade spacers from thinner materials to tighten things up but then it runs the risk of being too tight if someone uses a thicker blade or gunk gets built up in there.

If you have an auto tumbler with appropriate media it will put a perfect finish on the material and save almost all that sanding. I say almost as it will still need fine tuning here & there. Fantastic tool.

I use an olfa HD with the plastic stripped off. I put a piece of reflective tape on it, cos it's very slim and easy to lose. Only downside is that the blade can slide out the back if it's loosened because the stop was on the plastic.

As a laser operator I see things about how this kit was cut that kinda grate against my standards. The cut lead-ins (little divots on the side of the parts) should have been on an inside facing edge or the end of the part and the bridges on the two spacers could have been much thinner for easier cleanup. Speaking of clean up, the operator could have gave the parts a gentle wipe when the slag was hot and it mostly would have brushed off, or refine the cut to reduce how much is produced in the first place. Whining aside, you've done a great job cleaning it up and I love the idea of the knife but these small changes wouldn't have cost any production time to result in a better finished product.

If you use your olfas with the blades extended you should really check out the Knipex one. They have a spine that can be extended to support the blade which makes it way better to use with longer extensions. Nice video. I think I'll pick one up. But there's definitely a bunch of things I wish were done differently. Might try to develop my own 18mm version.

Yeah, kinda backwards. If it's going to require so much finishing work, and is essentially a starting point kit, it's supposed to be cheaper than a ready to go product. It'd be like buying a Chinese digital caliper that's rough and full of grinding dust that needs to be cleaned out and deburred before use, and it cost 5x what a mitutoyo does that's ready to go out of the box... what the fukover??
