Pure abundance is one shampoo and conditioner I never used, so I can’t wait to try it out!

Do you recommend the scalp benefits shampoo & conditioner? I’m trying to grow my hair out and I reached a point where my scalp is getting really itchy for some reason
@DeronEdward4 жыл бұрын
Scalp Benefits is great for soothing a scalp, but there are a variety of reasons your scalp could be itchy, so it’s hard to be certainly that scalp benefits would be your solution. If you try it be sure you are massaging the conditioner into your scalp.

Deron Edward thank you definitely will check it out and try doing that! I stopped shampooing my hair everyday like I used to and since then it’s been itchy... I use nizoral twice a week for dandruff but I think the reason is because my hair gets really oily fast

I’m interested in trying this for my fine hair but I’m a little worried about the Cocamidopropyl Pg-Dimonium Chloride Phosphate. My hair is prone to build up, especially polyquats and the like. Did this cause any buildup with repeated use?
@DeronEdward2 жыл бұрын
I never noticed cumulative build up with Pure Abundance, but at this point I would recommend the Invati system over Pure Abundance for volume and thickness

You might try Sapmoss instead it will give you moisture but is much more light weight than Be Curly

....so I think he said something controversial sulfate free "creates buildup". I have to say they must be others shampoos does cleanse out properly you scalp because it leaves the natural oils in your hair, not just aveda. I'm not against it, btw. But, what should we do when a build-up is created when suilfated shampoo is something in long term will create dry skin? What other options do we have? What other quimicals that will create a balance and not just this shampoo and conditioner? "Sulfates allow grime and dead skin cells to be removed from your skin and scalp and washed away with water, says Eric Schweiger, M.D., founder of Schweiger Dermatology Group.The downside is that they can also strip natural oils from the scalp and hair. That can make hair dry and brittle. And if your scalp is sensitive, sulfates can cause irritation like redness, dryness, and itching. What will you respond to this?

Hi Enid, thank you for your thoughtful reply! Firstly, I didn't mean to imply that sulfate free shampoos aren't effective, only that sometimes people that use them (particularly those that don't lather) aren't using them effectively. Non lathering sulfate free shampoos have to be generously distributed in the hair and the hair and scalp have to thoroughly manipulated to get a good cleanse. To be fair this can happen with sulfate based shampoos as well, but for those who have just switched from sulfate shampoos to sulfate free shampoos, sometimes they aren't getting a good cleanse because they haven't properly used the sulfate free shampoo. The buildup I'm referring to is excess natural oil and styling product build up. Sulfate free shampoos are normally just fine for removing natural oil build up, but some kinds of product buildup (especially from products with synthetic ingredients) won't easily come out of the hair without sulfate shampoo. For those who have skin irritation from sulfate shampoos, I would recommend massaging your conditioner into your scalp, as this helps restore the protective oils that our scalp provides. Aveda's Scalp Benefits conditioner is excellent for this! I hope this helps, thanks again!

Is this range ok for wavy hair?
@DeronEdward3 жыл бұрын
Definitely! Depending on your hair’s porosity you may want to add in a moisturizing leave in, but it’s suitable for any texture
