New one for me, great choice. Leaving the drummer's vocals in didn't hurt a thing. Nice tribute to the drummer. Lost an aunt recently and although this is not her style of music. The message was something she would say. Great timing for me to hear it for the first time.

The piano solo gets me! And Jimmy was a master at the drums! “So Far Away” is in tribute to Jimmy after he died.

After Mama passed away my brother Brian, told me listen to this song. He said it sounded alot like Mama. And it does. She suffered so long with pain. But she also knew there is peace on other side with Jesus. Her and Dad always taught us that. Took me awhile to request this one because its just like pulling a scab off a wound everytime. But sometimes i think we need feel the grief to accept it. Which i never really came to terms with yet. Im so thankful for my blood family and im thankful for my MRM family MERRY CHRISTMAS YALL and GOD BLESS YOU ALL

This is one of the few songs I've ever cried to live. They came here in 2013 and mid set they dropped it. It made me think of my grandfather who passed in 06 and this album came out my senior year of high school and the burden of not having him here supporting me came rushing back. Glad you enjoyed it!

Weirdly my 3 favorite songs by A7X are this song and the 2 songs they wrote in response to revs passing: Nightmare( a dark song about realizing you die and ended up in Hell) and Far Away a calmer song remissing of the years they spent with Rev

Thanks Ty, my sister, Wendy, requested this. It's kinda odd, I had been listening to this song. I told Wendy, you need to hear this. This song just reminds me of Mom. Anyway, Mom always tried to prepare Wendy and I for things. I miss Mom, and Wendy my Dad and I are still kinda in awe, just doesn't feel like she's gone. Thank God, our little family unit was, and has always been very close. Something, this world doesn't want anymore. We're still close and will always be. Even though one of us, Mom isn't here, she's still in my heart, Wendy's and Dad's. I appreciate this reaction. And thanks to my Sis for requesting this.

Great song. That is crazy that song came out after the music I know for avenged sevenfold the best. 2010, I got into them in 03. Was really into them around 05-07. I thought that was an earlier song or something. They’ve been around a while now, it’s weird how the time goes. Love the melodies, instrumentation, and vocals. Strong music.

Oh! When i was speaking of The Revs vocals being " off" on the demo. I was only referring to the part 6:27 the mumbling part. ( and im not saying it sounds bad. Just 'off' ) But i think the band leaving it in the song made the song more powerful and emotional. When he sing the part " let it BURN" to me i take it as that was the final straw. The pain of his heart. The burning. And the emotionally pain of knowing you dont have much time left. I think when he was saying BURN, that really came from deep deep emotion and pain. I personally think Jimmy ' The Rev' has a wonderful voice. I was just pointing out that tgere wasnt plans on the vocals on demo were to be put on the album. But it was the demo they kept and just added M. Shadows voice. Im not sure about the drums. Im not sure if The Rev played drums on this song. But im sure someone in comment section will know. It says The Rev did when i click on the song on youtube. But im not sure if thats accurate. And someone did comment this. I had read it but wasnt sure if it was the case on the album version. But as they said The Rev was playing the piano. Im glad they left that comment cause i had thought i read that. But wasnt sure.

While I don't think revs death was suicide I do believe this was rev saying goodbye; rev was like 27 or 28 when he wrote it and not expected to make it to 30, rev loved the band and fans like family so as a musician whos under the impression he only has a year or 2 left at best I think its completely rational hed write a goodbye song to everyone even if he wasn't planning to commit suicide

The original name was called Death but they changed to fiction because The Rev would always tell them his life was like a fiction because nobody would belive it (I tried quoting exactly how the singer explained it but idk if I did it right)

I personally think the Rev planned to go out when he did, but even if he didn't, he DID know that in all likelihood, he had less than 2 years left to live because of his heart condition; docs always told him he wouldn't live to 30, and he was 28 when he died.

Oh I know a good 1 to do, the band wrote it after Rev died and based the music video on Revs favorite movie Jacobs Ladder; the song is called Nightmare; it'll also give you an idea of what their music usually sounds like tho the plot of the songs kinda depressing is about having died and discovered your in Hell

I don't know how you could listen to this and not think Jimmy didn't take his own life. He planned this. Sad but it left a hole in so many peoples hearts. FoREVer

I’ve listened to Avenge Sevenfold years ago and like them….but this sounds nothing like their music. That’s what makes this song all the crazier. This is a complete 180 from the songs I know from them instrumentally. They have a much harder sound form the songs I know like the beast and the harlot. So I have to say based on the songs I know, this had to be a final goodbye as the sound doesn’t fit the other songs I’ve listened to.
