If you think about it probably alot more than 50% of humans died. Think of vehicles crashing from dusted driver's with undusted passengers dying in the crashes or airline pilots getting dusting and crashing killing anyone left on board. People in serious surgeries and their surgeons dusting. Not to be too dark but children and babies parents being dusted leaving them helpless. There have to be millions of "actual" deaths caused by certain people being dusted.

it's random (IF it actually IS random, that is), so, no... You could have planets that got 100% dusted, planets that got 0% dusted, and anything in between... the rest of your assumption, however, is more or less correct (disappearing of certain people could and most likely had lead to deaths of others - a domino effect, or a house of cards)

not to mention food shortages and increased crime. We rely on export and import so much, that if distribution fails, (because companies and workers that take care of transportation are in disarray) you will end with areas with too much food and areas with no food. Many farms will end up empty with no one to take care of them. Less people dont mean more supplies for everyone like Thanos thinks, it will be less supplies with worse trade connections and random companies failing because of the Staff dying
