The most complex single piece of sapphire in watchmaking - a sapphire skull with more edges and facets than a brilliant-cut diamond - is suspended over our first Swiss-made open work tourbillon: the GT-01S.
Our story begins logically - with a question: why do most skull watches on the market sacrifice their design to the limitations of their movement and case?
single piece skull with depth and character that defined its movement and case. Not only that - we wanted to showcase our superior skill in crafting with one of the most challenging materials to work with in the world - pure Sapphire.Timepiece Trading Watch Drama CRM Jewelers Watch Eric

A BRILLIANT-CUT DIAMOND Invisibly suspended over our first Swiss-made openwork tourbillon is an industry-first, cementing Aventi as masters of Sapphire - the Sapphire Skull. It takes over 500 hours to produce a single skull and one mistake, smaller than a human hair, is enough to shatter everything. We spoke with master gem cutters worldwide and they all said it wasn’t possible; we proved them wrong. price retail chrono24
To put it in perspective, a brilliant-cut diamond is considered one of the most complex diamonds to cut. It has 58 facets. Our skull has 160 facets and is as thick as a grain of rice. As there were no gem cutters that could cut what we wanted from a single piece of Sapphire - we took action ourselves. We used our experience in CNC machining Sapphire, hand polishing, and watchmaking to do something they thought impossible. After more than one year of trial and failure, we proved the gem cutters wrong. As a result, it is the most stunning Sapphire Skull in the watch industry. Well done. They contacted me but wanted me to make a video without having their garbage watch in hands. They sent me a rider of things to say and not say, like: they’re hard to get, only by application, don’t say “affordable” which is amusingly the first thing Producer Michael said, and what not. I told whoever the PR person they hired that I’d be curious to inspect that “Swiss-made” tourbillon that is not “affordable” yet meets a certain budget, but that the watch itself looked like a nightmare…

By the same respect are you using click bait headlines to bring in views and defame our brand? Thank you for the feedback and we will clarify our marking as of now. Strictly speaking very few brands are actually 100% in-house (producing every single component under their roof). We used the term in-house because this movement is 100% our own technical design - made completely for us. All companies mentioned are the actual companies which make the components we use in the movements. We even had delay due to AP having priority on their machining requests from the same factories. The main plates are made by the very same factory producing for Purnell and other top Swiss brands. This movement is legitimate and this video misleads people. Gem cutters cut sapphire- sapphire is a gem. The sapphire skull piece requires over 30 position resets in a CNC machine - each time it's reset there is a risk of failure.. Just a fraction of a millimetre can mean the whole piece shattering.. We had to custom make clamps to hold the skull in place to stop vibration from shattering the piece as its very thin.. we have a production summary I can send through to detail all the steps and the complexity involved. I agree with some of your points and are adapting our communication but I would appreciate some support really... who else is here working at 9pm, 2 hours after your video launched to take on board feedback and improve? Can you tell me what you would do if you were in my shoes? I haven't done anything personally to you, why do you have to pick on and attack us when we're doing our best to bring something Incredible to the market?

Regarding the points... As you say the skull piece requires a CNC machine so why even say you tried to get gem cutters to cut it? No gem cutter would ever be able to cut that skull piece, its a pointless quest to ask them. Also how can you say its the most complex sapphire crystal piece on the market? Its more complex than the Jacob & Co Bugatti Chiron Case that takes a month to cut? If all those companies made the components for use in your movements then why state... "Companies such as" Also stating "We didn't make this movement". It confuses people. Isn't it best to be fully open and transparent rather than confusing people by using bad tacky marketing tactics? If its not 100% in house then how can it be called in house if its only an in house design. We never said the watch was not Swiss made. But interesting to see that the movement & is not actually assembled in Switzerland as per your statement. Plus you saying the sapphire skull not being produced in Switzerland. Being fully open and transparent would surely be better? Why not be different and make real movements in the industry?

strictly speaking, Lux is 100% correct when he said that you're aiming for the uneducated. who in their right mind with swiss watch knolwedge would buy this for over 10K... you've cried about how Rolex, Patek and AP are so "unobtainable" yet you create models for double the price of a Rolex with 1/10 of the quality that's even more "impossible" to get, and not due to demand, that's the funny part, but due to you barley not wanting to sell any bec you're not a real watch brand, you sell hype, not real watches.

🤣🤣🤣 You guys and your watches. I really wished you guys could afford what you want. My thoughts of thirty years collecting is that I buy what I like. I don’t need history and stories to satisfy my horological pleasures. I have several high end pieces and some no so high end but I like them. And if a watch doesn’t meet my standards I will gladly gift it to one of my grandkids to enjoy. Bottom line it’s just not that serious.

It's just not that serious? I can easily afford this watch but I'm not going to throw my money away on a watch that turns out to be a POS... Not saying that this watch is a POS but what I spend my money on is that serious. I'm not sure how you acquired your money but I have a hard time believing you did it by spending your money frivolously. I don't buy a toaster without researching it thoroughly, let alone a $13.5k watch. I'm sure your grandkids would rather inherit a nice watch that has appreciated in value rather than some random watch that ends up being worthless.

@@resiack To your point back in the 90’s I took a chance and purchased a watch on a little known company called Jacob & Co I enjoyed the watch for a while and sold it later for a fun profit. I never would imagine that Jacob & Co would be in the position they’re in today. But on the flip side of that I invested heavily in Panerai watches just to watch those pieces lose value. My point is no one can predict the future when it comes to these things. This is why I simply buy what I like and enjoy it. I have pieces that are higher quality that I will eventually hand down but my grandkids might not have the passion I have for the pieces and could sell them off anyways.

A gemstone cutter can't cut your sapphire crystal to your specifications and no gemstone cutter could ever do that anywhere in the world. Gems and crystals are not the same. Crystals are pure substances whose atoms, molecules and ions are arranged in such an ordered pattern that they extend in three dimensions You need specialist CNC machines to cut your crystal as you found out. Thats my point... you need the right tools for the job so asking gem cutters that specialise in gemstones and not man made crystal that require high end CNC machines makes no sense.

You failed to reply to my key points and only choose to reply to the least problematic point. How can you say its the most complex sapphire crystal piece on the market?

@@hannusiren314 difference is, RM actually produce real quality watches, not Chinese garbage. you're literally 2-3 years too late with a skull watch, it looks like a toy for a 5 year old. RM creates trends, you copy them.

@@stockholmpublishings2937 Very good quality and stylish watches. Innovation and heritage and master watchmakers. It is so clear they copy. Even name is same - A11 RM11 and so on. Also that supercar on the wrist - Racing machine on the wrist. It is so sad when you see brands just copy someone's hard work and ideas, use cheap parts and take shortcuts and then thinks they belong in the same group. There are many haters here yes because we are lovers of horology and the money thrown on this garbage will be money taken away from good deserving brands.
