I'm glad that I'm not the only one that thought the conclusion for Nagumo was fitting. It was poetic for somebody who always wanted to prove his own superiority because he could neither prove nor disprove it. It also adds the parallel between him and Ayanokoji since Ayanokoji who wants to prove his inferiority may never be able to.

I believe the conclusion of this battle was fairly decent and quite realistic in a way Nagumo & Kiyo are almost two sides of the same coin fr, Nagumo’s character was never wasted people that say that are lairs and most likely didn’t actually pay attention reading the series. Either way it goes once again I wasn’t mad at its conclusion as matter of fact, it was kinda relieving to me Hopefully we get a round to for the last YEAR2 volume

The author confirmed that there might be a post-graduation arc, which doesn't sound like it's going to be long until you realize that both the author and Lerche (the people of the anime) use the term "arc" to describe a singular entire year, so this might genuinely go crazy.

Can someone explain how ayanokoji being defeated shows the whiteroom is wrong? He literally trained horikita and helps all the class leaders grow obviously in order to defeat him in yr3. Him training the class leaders to beat him invalidates him losing since he indirectly assisted there growth. Also with volume 0 ayanokoji insane feats there's no way he realistically should lose

Kiyotaka’s father wants to use him as a means to further his own political agenda. If Kiyotaka loses, then it means he stops his own father from advancing his own political agendas.

He want to proved that WR harsh environment of education < Outside world's education, where people, instead of learning through pain, fear, trauma and stands alone at the top, could became stronger simply by social contacts, learning from mistakes and having emotional supports from others. Basically ANHS and WR have 2 entirely different view of education, and Koji want to proved that WR's one is wrong

the conflict with nagumo and the way it was set up, kinda spits on Manubu character development also, since he was adamant that Nagumo would threaten Ayanokoji way of life, which set up a lot of expectations from us the readers. But there was no satisfaction really, or at least Nagumo could never really damage Ayanokoji ANHS freedom, so he Nagumo failed the hype. The explusion of Sakura (Y2V5) was built to be impactful but was quickly handled and no lasting effects were written, so there was no further battle to prevent friend expulsions. Nagumo never really affected Ayanokoji in anything and so becomes a somewhat wasted character. Though i guess he was supposed to show Ayanokoji that being superior in actions/intentions isnt staisfying and how that in itself is a failure in his sucess. I feel like Nagumo is the silver standard and Manubu was the gold, something akin to accomplishing goals and leading with control/fear compared to Respect/admiration, but that seems more of a lesson for Suzune not Ayanokoji. Also love the use of Irregular at Magic High School music!! Its my personal favourite anime as i love the way it enevlopes science, physics and magic with technology, with equally intruguing political bouts and its meta commentary of our old society repeating itself in the future with the familial class systems

@@preemoart He had an inferiority complex since beginning but he hides it quite good cuz of his insane acting skills and emotional quotient in Y2V9 you can read nagumo's thoughts he always wanted to be acknowledged by someone better than him cuz he couldn't find anyone challenging he dominated his year but always had uneasiness that he was just a naked king this conclusion was good as he got acknowledged by both Manabu and Ayanokoji who were better than him and relieved from his uneasiness
