If you want an all-steel cased watch with a mineral glass at an affordable price, Armitron has several models. And most for under $40 bucks. Some under $30 bucks like the Armitron Sport 40/8474. This one does look much nicer and has a nicer backlight. $100 dollars nicer than the Armitron... that's up to you I guess. Great video and review though. Thank you.

Nice review! I am thinking about buying one. In India it's available for around 100 USD (and the AD sometimes offers a discount of 10% on this price).

Looks really great to me. Good value, super cheap if you consider Casio prices on their vintage range has increased a lot recently (at least in the UK).

This is one of Casio's most attractive watches, in my opinion, but I agree with many other commenters; it's a disappointment not to see 24 hr time on this module.

It looks really cool BUT, at this price point or maybe for a few extra bucks, they should have made it solar powered, 100m wr and put a sapphir glass on it.

A1100D should also include 1/100 seconds chronograph instead of that 1/10 seconds chronograph, a timer, and multi-alarm (minimum 3).

Please check your facts. The Casio Computer Co. Ltd. was founded in 1946, and they produced their first compact electronic calculator in 1957. Their first digital watch was produced in 1974, nearly 30 years after the company was founded.

Great watch, beautiful all around. No one buys this for only watch, it's an oddball side watch IMO, if you want to capture that 70s digital fuel. Bracelet was painful but otherwise well made.

105 USD for a steel case is a hard pill to swallow. I'm happy casio is finding ways to increase their bottom line and I love the choices and designs they've reissued lately and I'm sure this is a watch that will do well even in low volume given the astronomical margins it probably has. But I'd like casio to step up their offering costs while providing a bit more value. Like actual steel cases for vintage lines but in the 60~80 USD range. You know, more durable pieces that still retain VALUE casio is known for, rather than cheap low scratch resistance or fashion highly inflated priced pieces

I'd love one of these, but having recently bought an A1000 (not to mention a GWM-5610U, A168WG, and third A100), I can't justify it to myself... Not just yet, anyway.

Definitely on the fence with this one. Even at $135 USD, there's some price gouging with respect to what's on offer. With the ubiquity of sapphire crystal currently being used on a wide range of pieces, there's just no excuse for Casio not using it in the Vintage line. And then a premium is paid for Casio using stainless steel, instead of the more commonly used and horrible chromed resin. Again, stainless steel is a standard material. I'll give this piece its looks, which to my eyes straddle the line between hot and fugly (think the "two-face" Gwen character from Seinfeld). It's very easy and tempting to succumb to the hypewatch du jour mania, but I urge my fellow addicts to stay strong.

That is Casio. Even the stainless steel square G-Shocks don't come with sapphire crystals. While they cost $ 544-.

@@MrPleers Very good point--- the upcharge for dropping a standard module into a stainless or even titanium case and adding a bracelet is ridiculous in and of itself.

I ordered the gold version after I watched the perpetuality channel review because the gold one looked more elegant and yes I can confirm the gold one is very nice subtle gold. casio also made the gold version in the original version. i'm glad that's ion plated so it will last for very long time and it most likely will outlive the owner.

I’ve been looking at the gold also. Check out some of the Star Wars Casios. They are strangely awesome And I am by no means a Star Wars fan.

I just wonder... those pusher could be accidentaly pressed if the watch is tucked under a cuff, for exaple an elastic sweater cuff, or do they require more force to actuate? This watch is tempting me a lot...

I wouldn't worry, the combination of the force required to actuate the buttons and the slim nature of the silhouette, keeping everything very low profile, should avoid any accidents.

Have this watch and for me it is the best Casio digital watch in stainless steel, but Casio would made it better. I see two main flaws - 1) no 24 hour mode, 2) poor stopwatch measure only 1/10s and no lap function.

That 'folded like strap' belongs in the bin. Why do Casio INSIST on fitting such garbage straps on their watches? It DEFINITELY needs a much thicker solid linked strap.

You can get sapphire glass in a 30 dollar watch. The whole sapphire glass only found in 400+ dollar watches is a overpriced gimmick
