I think this makes me say that Screenwave pretty much outdone themselves at this point. They can make unfunny jokes in the newer AVGN episodes all they can, but censorship on the older episodes just to appeal to KZfaq's double standard bullshit on top of basically making James their bitch is an entire shitload of fuck within itself. James knows that he gets some shit for working with Screenwave and compares it to how he got shit for working with ScrewAttack and GameTrailers, say what you want about those guys but at least they let James do his own thing and never went to this extreme.

I don't mind censored swearing- like it can be funny in cases like Metalocalypse with the guitar scratches. But this kind of censoring is ridiculous and unnecessary.

the Atari Pork censored video was a goldmine of humor being a glorified TV edit with downright nonsensical censorship, but the Season 1 censorship being just a 90% bleep sound throughout the entire runtime rather than being another runtime of humorous TV edit censorship is honestly a sign things are changing and not for the better, had he went the effort to redub censor them humorously than to just bleep it all and call it a day is just a giant misfire

Screenwave Media is, as hbomberguy states in his latest video, a content farm (he said "content mill" but those are basically the same thing). Not as bad as those weird animation channels, but content farm nontheless. The quality takes a second seat to money.

I just hope these censored versions of old episodes doesn't mean that future new AVGN episodes will be censored.

That censored version reminds me of all the shows on television that used to (and still do) have censor bleeps to murk out the words that someone said.

Yeah honestly I had no interest in seeing the censored version either, but I'm not too worried. KZfaq has been demonetizing content for swearing a lot for at least half a decade now, and the new AVGN episodes are still full of swearing and dark comedy. If they haven't cut down on that by now, I think the new episodes will still have that.

At first I didn't have a negative reaction, I don't think it was a replacement rather supplemental. As long as the originals are up, I don't care if a censored version exists. If they were all censored like Atari Pork, I'd watch them all again and donate, lol. Meaning they put effort into making the censors actually funny.

Sorry, but I have to call KZfaq to come over and censor the non-existent word, "flanderized". On a slightly more serious note, I've stopped keeping up with AVGN for a while now. I've come to accept that his recent output hasn't been entertaining, due to often uninspired cinematography, stagnant comedy, and less genuine anger. It's not that it lacks any effort, just that the passion is only there in scraps nowadays. That said, I was curious about the censored first season, so I gave it a watch and gradually fell asleep. Without the uncensored cussing, most of the humour is lost, making it redundant. I'm aware that KZfaq has gotten bad enough to the point that cussing isn't acceptable nowadays, which makes "KZfaq Kids" redundant. It's surprisingly similar to when western animation went through unfortunate changes during the 1960s - bleeding talent and more restrictive politics resulted in a dark age for a long while. We either have to adapt or die, and AVGN is no exception.

I think it's a millennial thing. Growing up in the 90s, I remember watching movies like Robocop and Spaceballs, and they re-dub swears with other words. As a kid, I thought it was hilarious. He even made a whole video about it. As an adult, I still find pretty funny. However, I feel like he's doing too much of it. It made sense for the Atari Porn episode, but entire seasons? That's kind of pushing it.

Yeah. The Uncensored versions of AVGN’s old videos are much better. Just saying!
