Avi has done this song before, but he did this version as a tribute to Bill Withers soon after he passed away. Bill, among others, had a big influence on Avi. Avi is great at doing what I consider Timeless songs. He's more Folk/Americana than Country. Please react to more Avi. He's a definite favorite of mine.

Thank you for reacting to this. I love that your reactions really add to understanding and appreciating the songs. Avi spent a lot of time considering how to best take action for the current times. He decided he speaks best through his music vs social media, and is donating all proceeds from this release to the Equal Justice Initiative.

Avi's sensibilities seem more Folk rather than Country. To me this more like The Weavers or Peter Paul and Mary. Now Folk is a genre that has a huge repertoire and various styles. Another rabbit hole to go down. 😉

I really enjoyed your take,. The way you smiled through it is the way I always smile listening to Avi. Great job! I believe the death of Bill Withers the original singer is the reason why he released this single. I love Avi’s voice it’s yummy!

Just saw this one too this morning and yes I agree. Avi is wild about loving harmonizing and setting up his audience to do it accidentally would definitely be a plan. 🙂
