One thing I appreciate about Avi, is something that I appreciate about Tennessee Ernie Ford as well; even though they have extraordinary bass range, they use it conservatively. They don't just hit deep notes to show off; they do it when it fits and use it as a way to make a song more beautiful, not to show off.

That key is perfect for Avi. He has a depth to his tone, that no baritone can match, even if we can hit the same notes. He sounds so f-ing gorgeous. His technique is also wonderful, just retaining enough natural feel so it doesn't seem to pompous, like classical songs in general. It is so lush and so lovely to listen to. Can't think of many people competing for the same spot.

Jake Calderwood - better. He’s doing music he loves. And it shows. But more importantly, he’s doing soulful music. Ptx is pop. And their choice of songs are largely what is popular. That was great when I was sixteen, but as an adult, songs that mean something inspire more. And again, with Avi, it shows.

I am a contralto myself and I have been mocked and teased by others for my voice. (I can't hit high notes) Now I hear Avi sings...and low voices are indeed very beautiful... Too bad for those who can't appreciate the alto/bass voices.

@@Jomama02 and so many people don't know this was arranged and performed before Bill passed. Avi said Bill Withers was one of his biggest inspirations and during a livestream he talked about how gutted he was at his passing.

I studied music for a few years when I was around 15-20 years old and I loved every minute of it... Then adulthood came around, the 9 to 5 job, etc. Getting back to music has always been on the back of my mind ; I miss it very much. You sir might just be the little "push" I needed to make it happen. This, like pretty much all of your songs & covers, is absolutely beautiful. Thanks for making music man.
