Hey everyone, in my first aviation vlog of 2024, I visit the Southside viewing area at Manchester Airport to do some filming & photography. It has been nearly 5 years since I last visited this location due to personal circumstances etc.
In previous years, I've only ever filmed the aircraft on the runways from this location. However this time, I start the VLOG with my GoPro Hero 10 black edition, which I have now equipped with the media mod, Edutige microphone with furry windscreen & volta battery grip.
After travelling through Wilmslow onto the A538 Altrincham Road, we then turn right at the first roundabout before the airport tunnels, and park up in Loverose Lane. We then walk through the countryside path (signposted Styal) towards the viewing area.
Once at the viewing area, I then give my Canon HF R106 camcorder to my dad to film the aircraft, whilst I took photos using my Canon EOS 90D camera. We arrived around 11am, and stayed at the location until around 4pm.
As you will see in the VLOG, there was a wide variety of airline liveries landing and taking off during our time here. The main runway in use was 23L, but the mound also offers views of 23R, as well as both 05 runways (05L & 05R)
