A Huey doesn't create lift like a conventional helicopter....it just beats the air into submission.

ANZAC day Dawn Parade 2005 in Pahiatua, three Iroquios did a low flypast as the parade ended. You could hear them flying up the Mangatanoka valley - absolute magic!

Sounds like a frikken M2! At SERE they taught us how to tell the aspect or direction of a helo relative to your position. Its like 400 sonic booms per minute. I guess that awesome sound is a byproduct of it being a relatively inefficient rotor but who cares when it sounds so awesome!

My parents live up close to the ruahine ranges and we used to hear these as kids thumping through the hills looking for crops

They 3 min warning. The 3 min warning...a Huey is in bound, The enemy new to run even the older Cobra had that thump warning. I can still feel the thump today (Ft Bragg) as they practiced.

Cannabis is no longer recovered but dyed with substance that makes it unharvestable. Vertical accent while releasing gives a good coverage due to swirling effect from rotors.

one just flew over my house in PA, incredible noise, I thought it was a Chinook it was so loud
