Kitty Hawk's Bell UH-1D "Huey" in 1/48 scale is a fantastic model kit with nice details. Some research is helpful because the instruction is sometimes a little bit incomplete.
Unfortunately Kitty Hawk is gone and the kit is not available anymore. I hope another brand will pick up the molds and release it again. I added resin figures from PJ Production.

Looks excellent. Having crewed a UH-1H for more years than I will admit, you didn’t typically see nose and roof mounted Peters on the same ship (yes, I know it’s not “Peters” it’s pitot tubes). We would bend or break the nose pitot tubes all the time walking around the nose too close doing “last chance” inspections before going onto the taxi way. Also, one side of the engine had a tripod mount, the other side had a bipod and monopod engine mount on the T53-L11 or L13 Never saw door storage, only the box aft of the center console with a goose neck light just in front of it. Nice to see accurate armored seats. Oh no, I’ve become one of those guys………a rivet counter.

Thank you for your detailed comment. It's always nice to get first-hand information and a little rivet counting is fine. I plan to build a 1/48 scale Dust-Off Huey and a German SAR version in 1/72 scale. I'll keep your advice in mind and do my best not to go too far from the original. Regards ScalerDan

Quedo espectacular, yo tuve uno escala 1/32 Revell pero este a pesar de ser una escala menor es mas detallado. saludos desde Chile

Gracias por mirar y comentar. Los kits más antiguos de Revell y las versiones de Italeri no pueden seguir el ritmo de los detalles de Kitty Hawk. Por lo tanto, estoy muy contento de que los helicópteros Kitty Hawk en escala 1/48 estén nuevamente disponibles para pedidos anticipados aquí en Alemania. Saludos cordiales ScalerDan

Please check the 2401-12, -13 ,-14 prior to preflight. Also FOD check signed off by A/C prior to flight.

I really like this model, I built one and I am very pleased with the results. I need four more of them and I cant find them. Kitty Hawk has stopped production of them. I hope somebody starts making these again.

Plenty on ebay, mainly Hobbyboss without the guns. How did you get on?
