Watch the Indian Air Force IL-76MD Aircraft, from engine startup to takeoff. IL-76 is a medium-range military transport aircraft. The missions of the aircraft are paratroopers drop, and the carriage of troop forces and combat material with crews and armaments, including medium-sized battle tanks, cargo airlifting for troop forces and transport for disaster relief operations.

C17 might be better. But roar of gajraj's engine is enough to give me goosebumps. Still remember running out of my house when this beast would land at AFB Gorakhpur during my childhood. My house was next to landing strip.

Well said bro I also run out of my house to watch not only this beast but each and every aircrafts like Tejas , Chinook, c17globemaster , Sukhoi su-30 mki , Apache etc. near Hindon air base ghaziabad

C17 is not better. It is best. Only c5 gives competition to c17.

The earlier AN-12 from Russia was also Majestic then - I was serving IAF till 1985 and had good chance to fly in AN-12/Mi-4/Mi-8 the mighty aircraft and Choppers then.

No. I was in ranks but happen to serve in flying squadrons and getting chance to travel in aircrafts and choppers.

waiting for this from long time sir, daily I saw IL-76MD at Chandigarh airforce station, such huge sound at time of takeoff as well as landing , windows of my house starts shaking with this giant aircraft of IAF

My house is next to Jammu airport. love the tremendous sound when IL76 lands and takes off, in comparison the C-17 does not create so much of theatrics but surely is huge

I love military planes from my childhood days... I am 60+ now i still admire and ❤️❤️❤️ love these magificiant flying machines...in particular i love the fighter planes from spitefire, p51 mustangs to su 30s... Sadly i have not seen them directly 😢

the IAF should replace it's aging fleet of Ilyushin Il-76MD multi mission heavy lift transport aircraft with brand new Ilyushin Il-76MF-90A multi mission heavy lift transport aircraft which is a stretched variant of the Ilyushin Il-76MD multi mission heavy lift transport aircraft . . . a fleet of 83 - 92 brand new Ilyushin (stretched) Il-76MF-90AE multi mission heavy lift transport aircraft should be enough for IAF's logistics needs . . . the IAF & other C-17B Globemaster III multi mission heavy lift transport aircraft operators should pursue Boeing to launch a stretched variant of the C-17B Globemaster III multi mission heavy lift transport aircraft . . .

It is old,iaf bought these 1980's , transport planes have lifespan from 15 years to 45-50 years , depending on the size of jet. To reach max lifespan constant maintenance and upgrades( changing old electronics with new one , using new parts in physical body etc) are required. These ill-17's are in final stages of thier life span and will probably be retired by 2030
