The eel guy discovered he had an old water cistern in the house he recently bought. He is big into caving and owns an aquarium store but his favorite fish are eels. These are American Eels. He has a whole series of videos of him turning it into an eel pit. Also puffers do sometimes puff up just to exercise that muscle. Cory's Mbu puffer does it from time to time, it's rare and only for a few minutes. I caught my fahaka once doing it and all I did was walk into the living room and he was massive. But yea, some do scare their puffers into doing it. But the eel guy doesn't strike me as the type, just really really lucky

Not sure about american eel, but if those were european eel (which look almost identical) then they probably won't be too bothered by the rocks and concrete. They have such a thick slime layer above their skin that they're basically hagfish lite and they don't shy away from rough surfaces. In fact, there used to be an eel fishing technique where they would be caught using animal skulls because they'd use it as a hideout.

I've been reading a bit and to my surprise, goldfish can indeed have growths that are like white pimples, though from what i read it can be a tad confusing at least for me. Could simply be carp/fish pox which is a simple viral thing that comes and goes that isn't too bad,or ulcer disease which is quite bad. Also seen some places saying it could be a normal thing for mostly male capped variety goldfish as they prime to beed,or minor bacterial or fungal infection or a buildup of white bloodcells in the wren. Info is kinda all over the place like some things in the hobby. But all in all, they tend to be somewhat common and they could pop like human pimples. I personally have never own goldfish so i'm not extremely familiar with such things... i do have a cute betta though and i adore him and my family is rather used to having fish, though we mostly had saltwater fish with voral and live rocks and at the moment we are trying something new with freshwater planted tanks after so many years of losing our saltwater fish to a bad ice storm. So far,it's tricky for us, at least with our big tank at the moment but it is getting better lol. Also, from what i've seen, puffers can infact puff up to stretch sometimes so their muscles are used to doing such things similar to how we should stretch before working out. but often it is in defense due to stress. I can imagine if the puffer isn't stressed and such,it is simply stretching to be all ready for such a straining task when the time comes. :) love your vids though!

ok so that eel pit guy is like a legit exotic fish keeper. he has tons of experience doing it. he has an old water tank beneath his house that's designed to hold rainwater and he flooded it a little bit and added gravel to the bottom to make a tank for some eels and a few other things. he has little islands of cinderblock all over it for the eels to hide in. he feeds them by hand but also has like crawfish and other feeder fish for the eels to hunt if it's needed.

It’s also pitch black when he’s not in there but he refuses to stop putting goldies in it. @@foolishlyfoolhardy6004 well, I suppose it would depend on your definition of deformed. While these fish have features that a natural fish obviously wouldn't have, the fish individually live decent lives. They breathe perfectly fine, they swim, they eat, and they live. They're living better than pugs. Now, I agree, a lot of goldfish have been messed up by breeding. Like the fish that have one giant eye bugging out of their skull while the other is tiny. @@foolishlyfoolhardy6004 a healthy ranchu goldfish lives 15- 20 years, so I'm not sure about that. The growth is completely harmless most of the time, and as you said, the worst it can do is that you may need to trim it. I mean it's kind of like hair, more than anything seeing is a whole lot different than breathing. Maybe they don't swim the same way a "normal" fish does, but they still do it perfectly fine. Also I'm not sure if you're being sarcastic about the fish with two different sized eyes, cause if you aren't, then it means you've disproven your own argument

@@foolishlyfoolhardy6004 i never said that they are normal. But the fish don't seem to be suffering. obviously the way fish feel things is not as clear or as complex as dogs. I think that breeding can obviously lead to some messed up animals. Besides, the thirty year old goldfish thing is incommon for both anyways, so you didn't really do anything there. Listen, if the popeyed goldfish is living a perfectly fine life but it's just visually deformed, then the same should be even more true for ranchu. Besides, luke's goldies does culling anyways, so blaming him feels counter productive. But this convo is dumb anyway because anvj didn't even say any of what you're saying, he said that luke thought the methylene blue could cure tumors.

@@foolishlyfoolhardy6004 they don't need to swim. Nor are their heads really deformed. That's the wen, you tart. Fish cannot really feel pain but they can feel stress. These fish are kept wth members of their own species, fed well, kept in clean tanks. I don't think they are very stressed. He breeds these goldfish to make money and because he really likes them. He doesn't make them like this. Don't hate the player, hate the game.

"Why did they give him such a small screen" As someone who knows thing or two about submarines (just a hobbyist but still) reason why submarines don't have windows is fairly obvious, the pressure would break them, and reason why the submarine that went down to the Mariana's trench for the first the the Trieste had it's window actually crack was due to the immense pressure down there. That submarine in the tik tok has just a small window that's probably quite damn thick for that exact reason, to not the break under pressure since if it was larger it would have more surface area for the pressure to have effect

So that guy walking a gar… in Texas when you catch a big ass alligator gar, they’re just too big and heavy to hoist onshore with your rod or fit it into a net. So anglers lasso them and pull them up to safely remove the hook. And no, it doesn’t hurt them! Their scales are so tough they it’s more like giving them a big hug with a rope.

I went camping on the Potomac River recently, went early in the morning. Flounders and pipe fish everywhere. Occasionally someone would yelp with a jumpy little dance out of the shallow water. We jokingly called it getting floundered.
