I read books a lot so that I can learn proper grammar. As for prepositions, we have to admit that we tend to misuse them, or even omit them in some cases! However, we shouldn't let that deter us, but we need to keep on learning nomatter how gradual the progress may seem. As for pronunciation, I don't have any issues now because I've been working on it for a very long time. I just need to nip in the bud some grammar mistakes by practising more.

I think it's the first option, since you're trying to express that somebody has confessed. In the second phrase you're just saying that somebody has stolen, but you're not adding the fact that he confessed. Sorry for my bad english, I'm still practicing.

If some advanced-level speakers have bad grammar, perhaps it's super common to a lower-level speaker. I want to see it for the sake of time efficiency, and of course, also for entertainment lol Nobody likes to randomly pick and read a boring grammar rule.
