Both "I am sitting on a chair" and "I am sitting in a chair" are correct and commonly used phrases. However, there is a subtle difference in meaning. "I am sitting on a chair" implies that you are sitting on the surface of the chair, with no physical barrier between you and the chair. "I am sitting in a chair" suggests that you are sitting within the confines of the chair, perhaps with armrests or a backrest surrounding you. In everyday conversation, people often use these phrases interchangeably without making a distinction.

Great great content. A small suggestion if i may. Please make sure videos don't exceed 30 minutes long or after that time people find it hard to keep focus on. Yes, i can pause the video and return after a 10-minute break, but most of the people will get carried away scrolling through Facebook

If ''this movie bores me'' is ok ( present simple), why ''this movie is boring me'' is not ok (pres. part.) they're the same , just the tenses are different.

Question; this ''We have smth (that's) called ..." and this one ''We have or ARE HAVING (smth is -) our house fixed'' are the same structure, to me. So why we can't say ''We're having smth called ...'' or '' We're having our house that's fixed'' Why???

To be honest, I appreciate this channel for its insights into American English. However, I've noticed that some pronunciations or words used here are more common in England. Having studied in both England and Asia, I'm familiar with both accents. Yet, I was surprised to hear the pronunciation /ɝːb/ (hearb) discussed, which is more typical in the UK. When Kevin pointed out that it's not correct, I believe it would have been clearer if he had said, "This isn't commonly used in the States, but in the UK, Australia, or New Zealand, etc." It's important not to label it as "incorrect," as this could confuse non-native speakers.

So, as we saw ''he was driven (by smb)'' is exactly the same as ''smb took/drove him somewhere by car''. So the somebody, the taker was the driver. It's ok But what if the taker, the smb taking him somewhere is not the driver but just a person who took him. What about now???/

So, if (smth) the movie is boring, yeah it's so boring..Now we're discribing how it is. It's ok. We can use Present cont. to say ''I'm boring that's why you wanna leave me'' but waht if (feel bored used in) Cont tense, e.g. ''I'm feeling bored here, that's why I wanna go home'' , may I say or how to say the same without using the ''feel''?? , is it ok to say ''I'm boring that's why I wannna go home''?? or I have tto say ''I'm feeling/getting bored here, that's why....'' to say what I really mean. ? Is it ok to say ''I'm being bored?

I've been trying, trying on and on for so long but still can't find a video in which the teacher talks about the.... (sentences beginning without a subject) I mean..''Is raining now.. Is ok .. Is gonna be/do etc. '' there're no he/she/it in those sentences. Once I saw those kindsa sentences while watching one of one's vids but I can no more find it.. Could smb help me out?? Thanks

It's never correct to say "Is raining now". Sometimes, the subject can be dropped in *informal* English. I suggest you look up "subject dropping in English" and read on the subject

Why is it "on the love seat" not "in the love seat" ? Because you have just taught in the chair so it must be in the love seat.I did not understand why.

A love seat (or loveseat) is a type of sofa. You use the word 'on' for benches, couches, and even chairs without armrests!
