Great advice brotha! I see it so many times where people overpay on everythinggggggg/ the wrong cards.....

You know what doesn't have high pop counts? A lot of sealed wax prior to 2019. Unless the card is an iconic card of a HOFER, I'm avoiding buying ALL graded cards. People also need to understand that pop reports aren't 100 percent accurate. The same card can get submitted multiple times by the same submitter, ie get an 8 twice and then third time get a 9 and yet it counts each time against the pop for that same card. Too many variables with newer cards with grading. You make some good points Brad and I look forward to more of your insights. There is just way too much product being printed for me to buy any newer graded cards. I buy proven over potential but I know others love to speculate and that's fine also.

I've been gravitating more towards autograph cards here & there along with lower serial numbers to offset the grading factor (e.g. a card serial numbered out of 10 getting an 8 or 8.5 won't hurt as much as a non-serial numbered card or card numbered to 499). One question I ask myself: Is this player collectible? Jordan PSA 7s of his '86 Fleer are going for over $5K. Kobe '96-'97 Topps paper PSA 7s are going for $150. To me, those sales are proof that having just the card of that player overrides the "grade" factor and should carry some importance too.

The thing with very rare cards is that, as long as the player's rep doesn't takes a nosedive, selling opportunities will emerge again. Just might be a wait. You might consider set builders as well. For example, some 90s insert sets in high grade have potential take off, whatever the player. In fact, the more common players may be tougher to find in good condition.

has anyone heard anymore updates from PSA as to when they are going to be opening back up their service levels? this process is taking entirely too long, there is absolutely no reason why they shouldnt be caught up that this point and yet they still are not event through January for Value levels

Good lessons here. I also got burned on a Kyler Select rookie. No doubt you are right on when it comes to flipping. If holding, down the road some of these cards will hold value since they may be affordable for new collectors. Not sure PSA will ever have the cost right on the service where cracking a card from a different company makes sense. Going to have to be lucky and go from a 9 to a 10

Stop investing in modern over produced cards. The companies are manufacturing scarcity, it’s a scam. Invest in vintage (pre 1980s) high grade cards. 1980 topps Magic/Bird RC is a perfect example of an under valued card.
