Hi Master, If you come across guys who can't speak a single word in English ( at least hello) together with a kind smile avoid them completely in isolated areas they can be dangerous, two gentlemen in sunglass shops are Sri Lankan Muslims are the most generous Muslims ( harmoniously lives in Sri Lanka with all communities) You are correct mostly they are very generous and very good at fair trading( i am a Sinhalese ) take care if you go to Mirissa there are some beach boys are not so generous. Thank you for making me addicted to following your guys to be in that beautiful land I lived for 40 years. Good luck and enjoy the trip sharing your happiness with us

I have never been to Sri Lanka but judging from yours and other travel videos I have seen the people all seem to be warm and friendly. I dont see antagonism towards foreigners and tourists. One crackpot can be found in any group so I would not take it personally. Enjoy the videos and much love to the Sri Lankan people from the USA. If I could I would travel there.

It's "api yamu", p not b 😆. There's no b in Tamil, right? You guys use p instead of b, or you use it interchangeably? I might be wrong. Tamil speakers get a lot of Sinhala sounds mixed up, like th and d, p and b, etc haha

11:00 if they're Muslims, e.g. with the White cap or Beard (or named Mohammed), you can use the same greetings you used in Pakistan, like Salam Alaikum and Insha Allah, they'll love it lol.

Harry you MUST check out “ Umandawa Global Buddhist Village”. Which will be a great experience. Absolutely a different concept, amazingly designed and developed in few acres of land by a Buddhist monk. Worth a visit. Sure many tourists haven’t visited this place. So I suggest you guys check it out, you must meet the priest there. He ll be more than happy to have you all. I guarantee it will sure to be a whole new experience for you. Have fun!

That was clearly a mad man, sorry you had to go through that. You saw him arguing with a local man, so at least we know he doesn't target just foreigners haha. Hope you're enjoying the beaches! PS: please don't sit in the front with the tuktuk driver. There were three people in the front! It's obviously very unsafe, and if the police see you, the poor tuktuk driver would have to pay (not just a fine, his driving licence may be affected too). I think the tuktuk driver agreed because he was desperate for the money, so he took the risk 😬 Just hire a van or at least a car, if you have a lot of bags.

Hi Harry, Iam from uk originally from srilanka, just to give you some tips, when say machan to people don't say it to elders they wouldn't be happy, say machan to young people only. For elders male you can say Maama, elderly women you can call Nanda, for Grand mother AAchchi, Grand father SEEYa, if you use these words they would be pleased and appropriate, have a great time in sl
