Hello friends! What happens when jeans fit the hips perfectly but not the waist? Well our common alteration of taking in the waist on jeans becomes a bit more tricky. This often happens when taking in the waist on high-waisted jeans. I wanted to give you some problems to look out for and solutions for when you have to do this alteration. If you find this video useful, please don't forget to give us a like, comment, share, and subscribe! :)

This is a really great video. I have had problems with buying pants my whole life. I have an hourglass shape like Anne, and I am also a plus size petite (and some people do not even know what that means). Finding a pair of jeans in a store that fit at the waist, hips, and length is like finding a unicorn. Learning how to properly alter my things is helping me to have a lot more options.

I'm off work today too much snow here in Southeastern Ohio. I was so happy when I saw your video come up. I am rewatching your previous videos for the 4/5 times LOL I love this I needed it so bad since I am doing more jean alterations now since I found your channel. I thank you for the link to the thimbles I found MANY more items I needed LOL The prices are so much better than Amazon I bought razor blades and a handheld steamer and several more trinkets and rulers. Great site I had enough for FREE shipping lol oh and I found the perfect hangers I needed for my school letterman jackets I like to give the customer their finished letterman jackets on a hanger and a plastic cleaners cover. I think it looks so much more professional than just handing the jacket, we sold more than 50 letterman jackets before Christmas I do the embroidery and stitching on year numbers and letters. Thank you again for this channel you are so generous to share your knowledge and you make learning so much fun. I would work for you for free so I could learn. :)

Something else I bought the whole box of USA-made single-side razor blades. Probably won't ever need to buy another blade but an awesome price. I needed machine oil so reasonably and bought 2 of the oil bottles one for home one for work, little snips, chalk marking pencil with refillable colors of chalk. Prices are so much better than AMAZON. Over 100$ free shipping.Oh and I found the handheld steamer I needed for removing hoop marks at work from embroidery. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/qa-fqpN2r83PnKM.html

@DowntownTailoring
@DowntownTailoring Жыл бұрын
I'm so sorry that this happened to you. Sometimes, it's hard to catch this situation before you start the job. I usually leave at least a 1" seam allowance to be able to do some corrections afterward. If you did, you could try to let out about 3/4" on the center and then make 2 darts of about the same 3/4". This, for sure, will reduce the deep curve that was created at the center back. I'll be posting another video with more clarifications about waist take in. I hope this helps 💐
