The Simpsons ride used to be Back to the Future. For sure old technology! I loved the back to the future ride, but I was much younger then. 😂

I love all of this attractions! I don't suffer from motion sickness so I can do Forbidden Journey or The Simpsons few times in a row with no problems. All the rides I don't do have drops, that's my kryptonite :( Great video as always!!

I was concerned about motion sickness with all of the virtual rides. I took motion sick tablets but Forbidden Journey still made me feel terrible. it took about 2 hours after before I didnt feel sick. I want to love that ride because it's so amazing. Hopefully I can get past the sick thing.

We hear this a lot unfortunately 😞. It is truly amazing. With it being a HP attraction we wouldn’t be shocked if it got a timely upgrade! Hopefully that’s the case!

Now that I'm firmly planted in my 30s I've found that the best defense against motion sickness is staying hydrated. Its makes a night and day difference. You can get free water from any place that has drinks on tap at all parks. Stay hydated, pop an all day dramamine and some ginger root and you'll be able to ride like a kid again.

We agree with all of these! It’s amazing how much that Florida heat can make it worse. We love the freestyle cups because they offer poweraide and poweraide zero. It helps so much with hydration!

I get dizzy sometimes especially when I ride rollercoasters and going upside down otherwise I don't really get motion sickness as much but thank you so much for your wonderful videos

I buy them at any grocery store, so like walmart or target. They work for me, however we always have to suggest that speak with your health care provider before taking any type of medication! Thank you so much for watching!

Hello! I'm a new subscriber and I just love you guys 😍 So, I sadly also suffer from bad motion sickness, found out the very first time I got in a plane. Dramamine has been my bbf ever since lol. I've been to Universal for the very first time a few months ago and my boyfriend (who's more experienced regarding parks) told me I should definitely avoid The Simpsons, Despicable Me, and MIB! So I haven't tried those. You think I should give MIB a try next time? Since I haven't seen that one in your list, maybe it will be bearable 🤔 Guess I'll never know 'til I try!

We don't think MIB is too bad for motion sickness! It does spin a little bit at the end, but it's pretty mellow. You could always watch the POV of it online to help you make your decision!

I absolutely loved the Simpsons ride. I never experienced motion sickness but the potter ride did set off my vertigo and so I felt dizzy for a while after.

Another homerun! My list would be the same as yours. Fortunately, I've never had motion sickness. But some of my riding-buddies get sick on The Simpson's and Forbidden Journey. The Simpson's can give me a headache, I think because the projection isn't as sharp as I'd like it to be. I wish Universal would update the video, and make it 3D!!! There would have to barf bags in every vehicle!

Wings Up! Jimmy Fallon ride made me so sick, I had to rest in the family room and drink water for a bit. The team member who assisted me was amazing. I wish this ride had bench seating.

I get sick really easily, I have motion sickness issues (even in the car and in the airplane). I got the annual pass and was willing to give it a try to "lighter" rides. The Escape from Gringotts was really cool, I felt scared but not sick at all. Then, I went to the Forbidden Journey expecting to be similar OMG. I got sick after 5 seconds of the ride, had to keep my eyes shut the whole ride. It was too bad not being able to watch the screen. Do you guys recommend any rides that could cause less trouble? I also heard people talking about medication...

The Simpsons ride was a one and done for me. The only one that made me feel really sick. Love Forbidden Journey, and it doesn’t make me feel sick, though I make sure not to eat right before riding it. We rode it 3 times the last day of our first trip (though only twice back to back).

We stayed clear of the Simpsons Ride during our visit there because of all the things we heard about it. I saw several families as we passed by that had just come out of the ride looking quite green. 😬🤢

That is totally personal! If you think you will go to Volcano Bay enough to make up for the loss of the 10% discount then yes it is a good move! Also if the dates that are blocked out with the seasonal pass aren't an issue then it is definitely something to consider!

Tyler has had luck with the non drowsy kind, but it wasn’t the Dramamine brand. I think it was an off brand or drugstore version. But he also doesn’t get very sleepy from the regular kind either!

Dramamine is one thing I for one will need for motion sickness. I’m from Ireland so we have different medication over here. Does Dramamine make you sleepy or are there different strengths you can get and are they available in big supermarkets or do u need a pharmacy? As far as sleepiness, it doesnt bother Tyler but there are many people who complain of that, but they make an non drowsy formula! Simpsons is definitely the worst for me, so much so that I haven’t been on it in several years. I’m from California so I’ve only been to the Hollywood one but I’ve had such bad experiences with it that when I went to Florida I complete ignored this ride, even with express pass. Lol. Maybe I’ll give it a go with Dramamine but I wouldn’t do it any other way.

Everything makes me sick. 2019 trip the backward part of Hagrids made me sick. 2021 trip I went armed with a scolpamine patch. Of the two on this list that I rode Transformers did not bother me. Forbidden Journey immediately made me sick. I closed my eyes and still threw up twice.

Last time I was at Universal, The Mummy made me so sick to my stomach, and it was so weird because I never had that problem before. I ended up with an all day Migraine. Now, I am considering one of the anti-nausea bracelets for the next trip.😅

Oh no, that's miserable! My SIL had a similar experience with Hulk and she rarely rides it now. Tyler used those on a cruise once and they were great, but he's never tried them at the theme parks. You'll have to let us know how it works!

Minions definitely made me feel a little woozy and disoriented during the ride. I found myself having to take my gaze down to the audience and away from the screen a few times to center myself. I felt fine after the ride though.

I go every year and when I went last year I got motion sickness I feel like on every single ride. It was the worst. Even my sister she was getting motion sickness periods I don't know if it's something off with the rides or what's going on but that's not a usual thing for us. Maybe The Simpsons makes us feel weird. But for most of our vacation we felt like crap and we were taking a bunch of Medicine

Ive rode the sympsons. No problem, velocicoster, spiderman harry potter at universal studios, no problem. But oh boy. Harry potter and the forbiden jurney at islands. Made me sick. That one arm robot you are sitting on top of of, swings you around like rag doll. It was tough.

But Tyler, did you really have to wear a green shirt for this video? That did make me a little nauseated. 😂😂😂. I agree with your number 1, but not for the reasons you listed. I think the issue with the Simpsons is that the vehicle motion is the same as it was when it was Back to the Future. You can actually get e video of the Back to the Future and play it while on you are on it and it matches up perfectly. They thought that they could get the Simpsons projection to match the ride vehicle motion, because it would have been too expensive to reprogram the vehicle motion to match the screen, which is how they did it when they created Back to the Future. The one ride that does get me is Velocicoaster, but only after I have ridden it 2-3 times. That ride has so much movement that it does wear on you quickly. I remember one time at Busch Gardens Williamsburg, we were there and the park was empty, We were on the Lockness Monster and the rule was if no one was in line for your row when you returned to the station, you could stay in seat and ride again. My boys and I rode it 10 times in row without getting out of the seat and had no problems whatsoever. We could have kept going but had to get off because someone finally picked our rows to ride. Haha that’s crazy! I don’t think either of us have visited Busch gardens Williamsburg, but we’d love to! We also didn’t know that about Simpson’s, but it makes sense! That one’s always been a little weird, even though it doesn’t bother me!

The simpsons is the worse and it made me sick when it was back to the future too. This ride was the only one in the park that made me sick. Until I got on despicable me ride this year. I had never ridden it and decided to and I had to close my eyes through the entire ride.

Funny enough I have horrid motion sickness like i could turn around and get sick which had me super worried that most rides would make me sick... they didn't surprisingly. However I did not ride Jimmy Fallon or The Simpsons so I cant say anything about those... Now with Transformers, Minions, Forbidden Journey, Escape from Gringots, Hagrid's, and even Velocicoaster I did not get sick at all, so I'm pretty happy with my time there... except Velocicoaster... one time was more than enough for me thank you...

@@ThePughTwo bout 19 years ago I was on one of those rides that the restraint comes down from above over the shoulders and across the lap, the people at the park checked it and it was fine, my 6th sense told me to check it again. I gently pushed on it and it came open, I jumped off the ride and hit the exit about the same time they were going to hit the go button. They told me they could give me another seat, i told them what they could do... Basically they (Velocicoaster staff) could only get the restraint to go one click which mean I can not ride it, I looked at my mate and he hit the restraint making it go 3 clicks when it only needed one more.. spent the first part of the ride unable to breathe and thinking over and over , " please don't let it come open" because the restraint was in my stomach i spent the last half hoping i wouldn't throw up.... I made no sound during this ride while pretty much every one else was screaming. Thus ends my story, but now that i've done it and came out okay I'm sure i'd ride it again after some weight loss.

This list is dizzying-wish I would have seen it 2 years ago lol. Although I have never gotten sick on any of these, on our first trip I had an issue with SpiderMan. Quick tip-try to not get emergency wisdom tooth removal the day before going on vacation, and don't take a painkiller before riding Spiderman. I legit thought I was on a Tower of Terror type ride and needed to steady myself when walking out at the end. The second time around was much better. My wife was a little queasy at the end of "Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey".

We talk about in the video that Dramamine is a go-to for Tyler. He takes it every morning we’re at the parks, and it definitely helps! Always make sure you talk to your doctor before taking any medication. This isn’t a suggestion of Dramamine, just stating that he takes it. It also helps to stay hydrated, and not to ride those rides right after you eat. Also, avoid riding the problem attractions back to back in a short time span. Hope this helps!

@@ThePughTwo I get motion sickness from all motion simulators within 5 seconds. My doctor prescribed the Scopolamine patch and I was able to ride the Simpson's and enjoy the heck out of it. You might want to give it a try. By the way, roller coasters don't bother me at all...

@@mikeprovancha1771 simulator rides are the worst for motion sickness! Tyler tried the patch on a cruise and had problems with some of the side effects, so it’s Dramamine for him. But we’ve heard it’s great for most people, definitely worth a try!

I never get motion sickness, but one time I got off Forbidden Journey and definitely felt a little disoriented. I've ridden so many times and always fine, other than that one time. I can see how people get sick from Simpsons though. I think it's the huge shape of the screen and the low quality video. It needs some sort of refresh, but not sure Universal will since their contract with Simpsons ends in 7 years or so. Don't know if they will actually put money into it, since Disney now owns it and they may not extend the contract to Universal.

For me, I can just take any of the over the counter stuff and I do fine. I generally take Dramamine and that does the trick! Always check with a health professional before taking any meds!

Transformers got me. I was fine riding all the others then we rode transformers. My head was fuzzy then we went on Jimmy Fallon which did not help. I watched the woman in front of me pony tail the whole time which helped.

I recently heard Rip Ride is jarring on your neck, do you agree? Are there any other coasters/rides that are fairly rough?

We’ve heard people talk about it being rough, but we feel like Hulk is much worse. Rip ride has a few rough turns and sometimes you get a “bumpier” ride vehicle, but we don’t think it’s that bad. Anna does struggle with Hulk sometimes, though. It’s not as bad when you sit closer to the front, which you can request, but it definitely throws you around a little bit.

I was fine on all the VR rides at universal but the Simpsons really made me nauseous closing my eyes didn’t really help. but hey I’d rather ride that than ride mission space orange at Disney I had the worst ride experience of my life on mission space orange it ruined the rest of the day for me at Disney.

See the simpsons doesn't bother me one bit, BUT forbidden journey always makes me feel sick for about 10 minutes afterwards, I think it's the constant "boat rocking" kinda motion to simulate gliding, and the screens probably need to be cleaned or updated to be a bit clearer. It's an amazing ride though with amazing animatronics and settings, I still go on it atleast once everytime I go, but I prefer roller coasters over it all day. I think they just need to update the screens clarity and maybe add some faster motion instead of the slow rocking side to side stuff. Thats just my opinion! They'll probably not do anything to it for years

Why don't they fix these rides or offer a gentler car option? I went on the Harry Potter rides in 2018 and they all made me close to throwing up not to mention hurt my neck. Beautiful rides with crappy and dangerous mechanical decisions. I don't want to walk around sick or sit for a long time because I'm dizzy after a Harry Potter ride, I want to be able to eat the food and buy things. I know it's Universal that has the problem because I've never felt motion sickness in the past at Disney World, Cedar Point, Darian Lake, Busch Gardens, or any other theme parks.

We’re so sorry you had this experience! In some cases, that’s honestly just not an option. In forbidden journey, for instance, the HP actors have refused to come back for other attractions so they’re kind of stuck with what they have. They obviously try to create rides that won’t make people sick, but there’s bound to be some people that are more sensitive to that.
