The Avro Vulcan Xh558 was one of the main stars of this years Cosford Air Show (2014) And the Vulcan put on a fine display for the Ten's & Thousands in attendance. Hope you enjoy.

I was 49 years old for my first air show, and fell in love with this Vulcan immediately, what a beauty, I just hope they keep it flying. Good filming thanks

Love these things. The RAF had a detachment at McClellan AFB near Sacramento, where I was stationed in the mid 1970's. Vulcans would stage through on their way to Australia. One day, a C-130, a Vulcan, and an F-15 were in line to depart, and I guess all the pilots had their testosterone going, and we on the ramp got a bit of a show. The C-130 did a full assault take off, used very little runway. The Vulcan went full tilt, left the ground fast and disappeared at 45 degrees or so, very impressive. The F-15 used about half the runway, rotated and went straight up and gone. Jaw dropping. Three entirely different aircraft, each pilot doing what their planes did best on take off.

This thing is loud as fuck when the after burners are on, it sounds like a rocket. And that's why we love it

Gromit801 That is true of service aircraft, but a Mark 1 was used to test the version of the Olympus used for Concorde. It was housed in a special fitting below the bomb bay. Just imagine a 21st Century version of the Vulcan: stealthy paint finish, more fuel efficient engines, lightweight advanced composites airframe and completely new avionics/ defensive aids.......

I found the first half of her display was excellent, better than most other years if you ask me, however the second half seemed somewhat timid.. Good display overall :) Nice video mate!!
