Here are the latest generation of cat-back exhaust systems from AWE for the 2022+ Subaru WRX. Both systems offer full 3” piping with a resonated mid section and quad tips. You definitely gotta get your hands on the JDMuscle unequal length headers for the 22+ and try both of these exhausts with it, I know it won’t sound exactly like an EJ but should give a nice rumble

@@infinitea6179 What mechanical issues are caused by running a quality UEL and a tune? As far as I can tell there has yet to be any actual proof, it's all anecdotal. There's some folks out there that have said "after 100-150k miles your engine will blow up"....

A great exhaust man. The 22 WRX is looking and sounding awesome. Subies forever. I am really enjoying my 2020 STI and I can't get over the way the tail lights look on the 22 Wrx.

I own a 22 and rear is my least favorite part of the car. FA24 is showing great potential though! Picking this exhaust up once black tips are available

Paul I was set and determined to get a 19-21 STI. I hated the fender flares on the 2022 and the rear I just thought they cut a brz in half and placed it there…. But long story short I ended buying the 22. Everything i hated grew on me 😂🤣

@Smut Peddler idk much on Subaru EJ and FA but I’m hearing A LOT of great things about the FA’s. Have you gotten to the RTV issues yet?

@@randypathammavong722 I haven’t pulled the pan yet, wish there was a shop local to me that was familiar with the process. I really wish Subaru would offer this service…might try calling local dealer and see what they say, maybe even reimburse me a % of the cost? I’m only at 1.1k miles though so far

those tips won't be shiney chrome in 300 miles. I neglected cleaning my AWE tips weekly and now, even w/their tip tonic, getting the burnt soot off around the edges and bottom is no longer possible. plus w/the 4" tips you have to remove the tips to get 360° coverage (unless you have super tiny fingers). if I could do it again, I would choose something else over my AWE Touring. my slip joints also leak, even after multiple adjustments.... 🙁

Louder doesn't equate to sounding better. The Touring sounds really good. It's got that subtle pops and bangs, while the Track is just straight up loud.

How is it compared to the Remark axleback? Sound wise, loudness, deepening, pops, etc. big price difference but trying to decide which route to go. Thanks.

put axle back money into a cat back. after 4+yrs w/my AWE Touring, I'm ready for a change. Overall noise floor is raised and you can tell when the engine digs in. I never hear my car from the outside because I'm driving.....

Some will more than others, but they all will pop at least here and there. My 2016 will sometimes do it under hard acceleration upshifts, and will pop more on downshifts with rev matches. Most of the time it's one or two loud pops on downshift, occasionally it's several quieter fast pops. On upshifts, it's always one loud pop.

We love the sound as well 😈Mainly to due with the tune and excessive unburnt gas being ignited. Even stock FA WRXs will do it.

@@joshwakawaka7409 Stock tuned WRX can also pop, but that usually happens under hard acceleration or rev-matched downshifts. There are vids of people showing how tthey make theirs pop on stock tune, but it's not always consistent.

Partly to due with the tune and partly to due with how you shift. But you will get more pops and backfires with the track edition.

Cold started is kind of loud. But personally is better to wait till the RPM drops down to normal, less noise. But it helps the Turbo. Otherwise you’ll get turbo lag and lower PSI.

are you in an apartment or house? apartment - park with rear facing away from building. house- back out of garage and drive away w/in 30 seconds. it's loud, but not straight pipe loud.

In 6th gear at cruising speeds around 3000-3500 RPM it's really not super noticeable - with stock J pipe. If you bog it down in the lower RPMs you can hear it a bit more

AWE Track is the best sound for this platform in my opinion. 50k miles on my track edition and I still love hearing it backfire on downshifts.

@@bay240jz the music drowns it out at volume 15ish unless I’m on it. It doesn’t drone anywhere near as bad as stock even. It’s just loud when you start hitting boost in a lower growl, then it hits a new loudddd note starting at like 4.5k rpms. It’s just a fuckin blast honestly. My avg fuel economy has taken a major hit since installing it due to me just wanting to hear the exhaust note so much. TL;Dr, it’s amazing and doesn’t drone like stock

@@markthevathanjam9217 not that I know of or know to have experienced. One of the clamps that came with it was kinda ass but I also think that’s from the shop that changed my clutch. So after a new 4 dollar clamp from Napa it was normal again.

How is the 180 drone free work? I wanted to get one for my STI but im worried that the 180 still will still make my Tinnitus worse 🫤

AWE acoustic engineers adjust the size and location of the ports and the chambers in the mufflers. By controlling the timing of the sound waves they are able to create a 180 degree out of phase sound wave that cancels out problematic frequencies - it's definitely a more tame catback compared to all the others we have tested
