4 жыл бұрынFinished DIY woodburning and multifuel stove. This Awesome Heat!! Homemade Multi_fuel Stove is being lit for the first time This multifuel stove burns all types of solid fuel but will also burn waste oil when I make the new waste oil burner for it. the advantage with these barrel stoves is that they have a very large burn chamber so you can fit quite an assortment of logs coal and various sized combustibles inside.
I made a door and flue kit that will outlive this barrel and can be easily bolted off and installed on the next host barrel.

Very nice. I have had a number of barrel stoves over the years, all of them horizontal. The next will be vertical like that. I always put a damper in the flue pipe. Its another way to control draft and very important if the stove gets over stoked or you get a chimney fire. Intake air control never seems to be enough. Thanks for posting this project.

That really looks great Gerry. I love the design and you built it very well. I’m looking forward to seeing how you hook it up to use waste oil. Stay safe. It is rough here in New York but we will pull through. In the meantime it is nice to have your videos to watch and get ideas for future projects when it is safe to go out again.

Hi Dan. I am lucky to have some space here and a shed to mess around in. We are on lock down here and can head to the shops but cant travel more than 2km from home for excercise. Essential travel only. I have been following the crisis there in NY . It's really hard on the medical people there and of course the residents. Hi Gerry! Love this barrelstove and the fact it has a glass door! Im thinking about doing a build like this for a shipping container home. Just to burn wood for heat. A few questions im hoping you could answer: How is the condition after using it? Would you feel this is safe to use inside a home? Kind regards, -Joost

Nice intro! Catchy, brief, and very cleverly done. Kudos! Hey, great stove-have you thought of making kits for 55 gallon barrels? Sadly, no paragliding or other para-normal stuff. 🤣 Before you Fab up another oil burner, I suggest you work up a "rocket stove" heater with an eye to capturing and utilizing more of the heat.

Hi Sean, Unfortunately Covid has me and the whole of the country grounded at the minute so no 'para' activities at all 😜. Curious to see the oil burner, nice job Gerry. Still have issues with my oil burner. Just not getting enough draft to work without a blower, otherwise lots of time to work in the garage. Cheers from a plumber in Michigan

Hi Michael. Hope you are safe there in Michigan. We're on a sort of lock down here. It's a tay at home except for shopping and essential medical etc. No more than 2km from your home for exercise. The flue length and diameter have an awful lot to do with the burn. Even the location of the property, surrounded by trees etc. My next burner will have the oil pumped into the chamber but I will have a video soon of another burner I came across recently. @@GerrysDiy Pretty much the same, only essentially listed jobs are allowed to go work. I don't think everyone is following it though, we have people who still think it's a hoax. And every state is on it's own, to set there own rules as they see fit. Heck we still have four states that aren't under any quarantine at all. Cheers Gerry and stay safe.

So what's the plan for multifuel? I want to do something similar for my shop heater. I don't like leaving the oil running while I'm not there for hours. Need to be able to throw a few logs in. But I want to burn oil a lot too.

Hi Graham. As you will know we do a lot of paragliding off Mount Leinster beside you. There are a few of us here in Wexford that paramotor but the only training I know of here is Cathal Fowler in Enfield Co Meath. There are a few English schools that run courses in Spain where you can get training and a holiday at the same time. the weather is predictable too. Both stoves in the thumbnail were homemade one of which at the moment can burn just waste oil and the other will be able to run on waste oil and solid fuel when finished. Thanks for commenting Cheers Gerry

The barrel has thin metal. It will not work for a long time

He built it so the doors were reusable as the barrels fail. Should go quite a few years. $5 barrel vs hundreds for a wood stove.
