Oh yeah, Vaughan Brothers, Family Style! I remember when this album came out. I also remember a few years before it's release, Stevie said he would love to do a collaboration with his older brother. The entire album is gold!

This album was the completion of a dream for the brothers, who had wanted to record together for years but never had a chance until very near Stevie's death. Jimmie and Stevie shared the stage with other guitar greats at Stevie's last show in Alpine Valley, right before Stevie boarded the helicopter and crashed. This album wouldn't be released until a month after Stevie's death, but Tik Tok was played at his funeral.

This was the last album Stevie recorded before he passed away he and his brother have always wanted too record an album together but sadly it didn’t get released a few months after he passed . There is so many good songs on that album. In his home town of Oak Cliff, Texas there is a piece of art in a park they use too play in when they was kids that have the lyrics on one of them along with Stevie playing the guitar

This song was released in 1990. Stevie Ray Vaughn died in a helicopter crash in 1990 at the age of 35. I can't remember if this song was released after he died or before, but I remember being completely obsessed with this song and subsequently, the entire 'The Sky is Crying" album released in 1991.

I saw Stevie Ray & Double Trouble, Jimmie Lee & Fabulous Thunderbirds & BB King in Texas in the mid 80's PHENOMENAL SHOW. About 45 minutes each as individuals and then about 45 minutes together, sharing music & life experiences. It doesn’t get any better than that.

FINALLY! I have been tell people about this beautiful song and you're the only one to do it. Jimmy Vaughan had a band called The Fabulous Thunderbirds but alot of people don't know he played great guitar. There's a video to this song where Jimmy is watching home movies of Jimmy and Stevie when they were really little and it's so sweet. They did this album just before Stevie Ray's death and this video Jimmy done for Stevie Ray, the message is beautiful and very important.

I love to listen to Stevie Ray Vaughn. He passed before I discovered his amazing talent. He plays the blues and it is transcendent and transports me to a higher plane. I saw Jimmie Vaughn live a few years ago and enjoyed it. I love the blues done well.

This CD was a lifelong dream of both Stevie and Jimmy that took many years to finally make it happen. Sad thing is that SRV never got to see the reaction of it as he died August 27, 1990 and Family Style was released on September 25, 1990. This would be SRV last recording. My favorite song on the album is Hillbillies from Outerspace. If you ever listen to The Fabulous Thunderbirds you’ll hear Jimmy Vaughan playing guitar. He’s playing guitar on this song I believe. RIP SRV

Stevie passed on even before this song’s release. There’s a video version of this song that his brother put out in tribute. Hard to watch without shedding a tear. We spoke about 6 weeks before he died. What a loss for us, but I bet he’s playing with Jimi, BB, Freddy and the rest! Heaven is groovin!❤Donna G

👋👏👏‼️great reaction and I loved your message and interpretation which as right on target. Jimmie wrote this song and did the vocals as well. This album is a very different listen than Stevie's usual style. He and his brother had wanted to do an album together for a long time and finally got to it. Unfortunately we lost Stevie before this album was released but from his current vantage point, he can see how much we love it✨⭐️🌟. There are some really fun tracks on this one, check it out!

Van I’m gonna keep asking you to watch SRV in Daytona Beach in 1987 playing the song Ain’t Gone Give Up On Love I am still a patreon member even though I can get into my account because I like what you do and the content of your channel and how much you make me laugh and make my day easier I know you will love watching SRV perform this song because he plays the guitar behind his back and it’s also a great message for people not to give up on love You are the man Van bless you and your family with love brother
