Not only does the drummer have one arm, but he had two when the band started. And when he lost his arm in a car accident, and the band was getting successful, the band just stopped. They stopped. They stopped and didn't even try to replace him. They restarted again when the former relearned the drums with one arm. And put out Hysteria, arguably a GOAT rock album

They didn't really stop, they were recording Hysteria because the record label dosent care about anything but putting records out. They (Mutt Lange and the band) used a drum machine to record the album while Rick was out. They did wait to see if he could rehab and come back.

I saw the Pyromania tour in Oakland Collisiam in 1984. Def Leppard was sold out three days in a row. I have never seen so many people in one place at one time enjoying the same thing. They sounded like the studio version except for a couple of solos and crowd participation 85,000 people, HUGE. Outside people were trying to break in. Mostly blonde headed rich girls. THE BEST F.... CONCERT I HAVE EVER SEEN. TOO BAD TIME PASSES!!!!!! GREAT, GREAT, GREAT CONCERT!!!!!!!!!!!! AND YOU HEARD THAT FROM ME SPIKE!!!!!!!

Awesome song! one of my fav DL songs!! "Is it spinning?" Yes the concert stage is "in the round" meaning it's in the center of the venue vs at one end, and allows fans on all sides surrounding the stage. they spun their stage to allow all fans equal attention. Its one of my biggest musical regrets that i didn't go see them on this tour. I was 15 and considered "too young" by my mom to go. I have seen them since - but it was after Steve died, and as we all do - they've aged, and they're not the same as they were. But they're still a bad ass tight band with a lot of great music.

Fun fact Def Leppards Hysteria album didn't sell what they needed it to to break even. Until strippers started playing Pour some sugar on me 😁. Then Hysteria surpassed what they needed. Rick Allen is not only the GOAT of drummers. He's also an inspiration to never give up on your dreams.

Thanks Tasha! Love their pre-91 catalog...and my 3 favorite tracks from the band are actually off their 2nd album HIGH AND DRY. When you get a chance (I think "T" has already reacted to) MIRROR MIRROR , BRINGING ON THE HEARTBREAK that runs in to SWITCH 625. They are soaring rock ballads and a heart pumping instrumental. I was across the pond in Germany when Def Leppard broke onto the radar. The main attraction for me about this timeframe are the contributions of Stephen Clark with the guitar (the wavy-haired blond). While a member of Def Leppard, Clark wrote or co-wrote over 90% of the band's songs and had earned the nickname of "Riffmaster". My appreciation and love of his sound and style is probably unfair to the rest of the DL catalog, but when he left the band, so did the magic he held. He died Jan 8, 91 and the band TESLA wrote SONG AND EMOTION in tribute. (Another great track you might enjoy reacting to) Tesla opened for DL during the "Hysteria" tour and Frank Hannon and Clark had become friends through those shows.

I went to this concert Hysteria tour in Milwaukee. The stage was round and the drummer would spin. Your right we all lost our voices that night and for a few days later. Rick Allen the drummer is using electric drums and kicking it hard with his feet. This was the first tour after Ricks car accident in 1984. The group waited for him to get his groove back and this album had a lot of issues with producers and just crap. Mutt Lang came back and produced another masterpiece!!! Hand down is their best concert, I’ve seen them 4 times on tours and they had a residency in Vegas. Just seen them this past July, they can still rock and put on a good show.

Guys, I was almost fifteen when this came out, and I can tell you that this concert was filmed in February 1988, and it was produced for home video release. It was called "In the Round". This tour was in support of their 1987 album "Hysteria". I'm a lifelong Def Leppard fan. Hello from northeast Ohio. .... P.S., many of the previous comments are full of misinformation.

Joe Elliott had a history of losing his voice from a vocal cord injury. But he still keeps going, and if you notice, Steve, Clark and Phil Collen who were know as The Terror Twins, co-lead guitarists everything Phil was doing Steve was doing at the exact same time. They were awesome. One of the few lasting bands till this day, despite what they’ve gone through. They only had 2 different members since the 70s, original Pete 1st 2 albums, and then Vivian Campbell who replaced the late Steve Clark. That’s it . This lineup is still going

Guys, I hope you read my comment. First time viewer, btw. Anyways...I was literally raised on this band's music. My mom and dad were OBSESSED. I remember many many long car rides out to their friends houses in the country in a neighboring town (to get weed. It was the early 90's), they played the ENTIRE pyromania album on many of these trips. I also frequently woken up to the entire house filled with hair metal while they were cleaning on the weekends. (They were also big into Poison, and I just rediscovered Unskinny Bop for the first time in years) I'm a gay guy, my husband is 7 years younger than me, but he's always been big into 80's fashion and music, and he's become a big fan FAST...and some of Def's love songs have become our favorite for romance. Speaks volumes about their music because he used to be mostly into girly pop lol. Also note: Mutt Lange was the producer for this album. He also produced AC/DC and his ex-wife Shania Twain. He has a sort of rawness and punchiness to his productions that make him the best in the business. The guy new how to produce good stuff. I'm 34 and will probably never see them in concert, but I was introduced to them from cradle and will go singing to the grave

When Def Leppard started in the late 70's/ early 80's, they were a hard rock band w/ pop influences... they loved Judas Priest, Thin Lizzy and Led Zeppelin, but they were also fans of Mott the Hoople, Blondie, David Bowie, T-Rex and Roxy Music. Queen was huge influence, especially the vocal harmonies which Def Leppard adopted (Queen went pop in 1980 for a while). Their 1st two albums 'On through the night' and "High n' dry" were heavily guitar-driven rock, but 3rd album 'Pyromania' had more pop influences, and became a huge record in the US in 1983. Guitarist Phil Collen recalled that they felt that Def Leppard had more in common w/ Duran Duran than Iron Maiden... and that was evident when 'Hysteria' was released in 1987, and it had more synths and pop melodies. It took a few months to catch on, but 'Pour some sugar on me' became a huge single in 1988 and 'Hysteria' even outsold Michael Jackson's 'Bad' album by 1989. Def Leppard made quite a few pop rock records after - 'Adrenalize' (1992)... 'Slang' (1996)... 'Euphoria' (1999) and 'X' (2002). Europe was another band that started as a hard rock act, releasing 2 guitar-heavy albums - 'Europe' (1983) and 'Wings of tomorrow' (1984)... then, they were signed internationally and released the rather synth heavy 'The Final Countdown' in 1986 and became global megastars for a while... But guitarist John Norum did not like the new musical direction and quit. Unlike Def Leppard, Europe could not repeat that success w/ successive albums 'Out of this world' (1988) and 'Prisoners in paradise' (1991)... and split up in 1992. They reformed in 2004, but in a different direction musically. They later grumbled that the 80's were "terrible" and they were glad it was over, because the music business was pushing them in directions they were not happy with. A lot of bands gave in to label pressure and released more pop-oriented albums away from guitar-heavy early records - White Lion, Kix, Ratt, etc. Even Dio put a keyboard-heavy album 'Sacred Heart' in 1985... Judas Priest recorded the 'Turbo' album in 1986 w/ synths... Saxon went commercial w/ 'Innocence is no excuse' (1985) and 'Destiny' (1988) ... which was an epic mistake... Queensryche went grunge rock in 1997 w/ 'Hear in the now frontier'... Kiss went down that route too many times - going disco w/ the 'Dynasty' (1979) and 'Unmasked' (1980) albums... going for a concept record w/ 'Music from the Elder' (1981)... attempting a synth-heavy album 'Crazy Nights' (1987)... and a grunge rock album 'Carnival of souls' (1997).

I saw this tour. They called it “in the round”. The band would be inside the actual tour boxes. And wheeled in under the stage. Sort of “hiding”. But. Lol. We all knew. Seeing them live. It felt like you were with friends. In an intimate show just for you. As crazy as that sounds considering the thousands of people around you. The sign of true talent to me is when a band sounds just as good if not better live. And they are that. But they truly love their fans too. Music has gotten so far away from that “intimacy”. Just dollar signs anymore. No more raw talent. It’s very sad. I’m grateful I was there in those days to experience it.

Then during one of the songs they would sneak down there and make out with all the ladies. 😅 must be nice right? Lol.

Could you check out the band "Poets of the Fall" and their music video "Requiem for My Harlequin" They are a really underappreciated rock band from Finland! The song is the lead single of their 9th studio album "Ghostlight" that was released earlier this year!

Also it's great watch you guys rock out . Music has no racial boundaries. Music is a equalizer in society.

Is there anyway that you guys could do a reaction video to Def Leppard die hard the Hunter live in Colorado 1988 in the round? without a doubt the most intense version of the song that I’ve ever heard and other Def Leppard fans agree with me. Keep up the great work you guys and this is an all-time Def Leppard on rock of ages!!!

Did you notice Rick Allen (drummer) was missing his left arm? Not just a hand.

Sadly, the wild blond haired guitarist, Steve Clark, passed away from severe alcohol intoxication. An addiction he could not beat.
