To answer your question, senator Bail Organa was married to Breha Organa, who was Queen of the planet Alderaan. Thus we see in 4,5 and 6, that Leia Organa grew up as a princess on Alderaan. As a member of the royal family, she also became a senator like her father before her. When she realized how corrupt things were becoming, she joined the rebels and became a fugitive from the empire.

PS - Luke kinda got screwed in that deal. He grew up as a poor moisture farmer on a crummy, crime-ridden planet. None of the people raising him were actually related to him by blood, and they basically used him as a farm laborer... which is probably why Luke didn't seem all that messed up when the empire killed them.

George Lucas is quoted as saying about the prequels that it was the story no one wanted but the story he needed to tell. Which is why there's exclusively narrative building in one and two and three is the massive pay off lol glad you enjoyed it! Three is incredible but definitely heart breaking. It shows how evil palpatine is and how powerful Anakin is and just Ughhh so good

Agreed. I can understand why a lot of people didn't like them. But it was what George wanted to make and I think a lot of the cheesy romance, which is what some people complain about, is actually intentional, since he's supposed to be whiny and Immature, since he was too old for them to work out of him, and the Jedi are all about supressing and controlling your emotions, the complete opposite of the sith, and he had not seen her since the end of Episode 1. Yes this is long, but it kinda makes sense.

George Lucas said about movies “they are like poetry, they must rhyme” Notice how both Palpatine and Mace Windu said “He’s too dangerous to be kept alive”, there’s symmetry in there. That pushed Anakin to believe the Jedi were just as corrupted. The only thing keeping him from going fully bad was his faith in the Jedi code and now he sees a senior Jedi Master putting the Jedi code aside when convenient. Episode 3 was the best pay off possible to everything that was built in the previous two.

Interesting Bit: Anakin tells Palpatine, when trying to save Obi-Wan in the beginning, that "His fate will be the same as our." This is TRUE. Because all three men die on a Death Star. Obi-Wan is killed in the original Death Star while Palpatine and Anakin die in the second Death Star.

Some information about the Republic ship’s 3:37 The "little guys" ships piloted by Anakin and Obi Wan in the opening scene are Eta-2 Actis-class interceptors which have some visual designs which can be seen on the Tie Fighter such has the front cockpit window having that iconic Tie Fighter window design and the heat radiators on the sides which the Tie Fighters have of course the heat radiators on the Tie Fighters are hexagonal and much larger. These were created by Kuat Systems Engineering which is interesting as the Tie Fighters were created by Sienar Fleet Systems so I’m not sure how these designs crossed over I’ve always assumed both ships were made by the same manufacturers. But the ETA-2 was designed for Jedi only many of the systems were striped out to make them lighter systems Jedi didn't need as they had the force. 3:29 The massive Capital ships you see are Venator-class Star Destroyers also called Republic attack cruiser or Jedi cruiser it was the backbone of the Galactic Republic's naval forces. Kuat Drive Yards were the manufacturers of the Venator and the same manufacturers of the Imperial-class Star Destroyer you see in the original trilogy. The Venator in many ways is the precursor to the Imperial-class which you see in a New Hope. Following the rise of the Galactic Empire, Venator-class Star Destroyers remained in service to the Imperial Navy during the early days of the Imperial Era (a time period we haven’t seen in the movies yet) later being replaced by the Imperial-class which is the in-universe reason why we don’t see Venators in the original movies. The Venator at the very end is a Imperial version fully grey doesn’t have the red makings of the Republic version and it doesn’t have the logo. 4:00 The fighter you see the clone fly in the opening is the ARC-170 starfighter joint produced by Incom Corporation and Sublight Products Corporation this ship was the main fighter of the Republic coming into service a year into the Clone Wars. The ARC-170 was the precursor to the T-65 “X-wing” starfighter which was created by the same Manufacturers. The ARC-170 is a heavy fighter has a three-man crew the pilot, co-pilot, rear gunner, and the astromech (R2 Droid) who is the operator. We also have the Z-95 Headhunter which was created after the ARC-170 and came into service at the end of the Clone Wars this does not show up in the movie, but it looks the closest to the X-Wing more so than the ARC-170 as the Z-95 Head-hunter fills the role of a multi-purpose starfighter same as the X-Wing the only difference is no S-foils. Both the X-Wing and ARC-170 had S-foils “Strike foils” these would close in normal flight but open once the pilot gets into combat. The small fighters you see the clones fly are the Alpha-3 Nimbus-class “V-wing” starfighter created by Kuat Systems Engineering the same manufactures of the Eta-2 Actis-class interceptors which the Jedi flew. The idea of the V-Wing was to create a fast fighter which a normal person or Clone (non-Jedi or Droid) could fly pulling off the same moves and speed to that of a droid fighter. The big problem was of course G-force droids don’t experience this so they could fly fast and crazy something the ARC-170 could not do making them setting targets which is where the V-Wing comes into play. These guys somehow created a ship in which a normal trained pilot could fly and pull off the same moves and speed as a jedi or droid and not be ripped apart by the force of the speed and turns. The V-Wing in many ways was the precursor to the A-Wing used by the Rebellion but also the Tie Fighter. At the end of the movie where we see the Death Star the V-Wings which flew past the shot had the Tie-Fighter sound effect a nice little nod which George himself wanted the sound team to put in to hint at the changing times and the rise of the Empire. Clone armour The Clones in Revenge of the Sith have new armour the phase 2 which was much preferred by them as it was designed by humanoids and felt much better to wear compared to the phase 1 seen in Attack of the Clones. You may be wondering what’s up with all the colours well in the Grand Army of the Republic you have many different legions, attack battalions, etc. Each legion has a different colour, and some have their own unique armours for example the Clones with Blue markings you saw match into the Jedi Temple are members of the 501st under Anakin’s command while the Clone’s in orange are the The 212th Attack Battalion under the command of Obi Wan and Commander Cody. The Clones with the Red makings are the Coruscant Guard also known as Shock Troopers. The Coruscant Guard performed various duties in their service to the Republic, such as patrolling the galactic capital as riot control troopers to assist the Coruscant Security Force, and conducting hostage rescue operations they pretty much were the most loyal Clones to Palpatine. There's so many different Clone legions and types in this movie would take forever to write about lol most of them showing up at Order 66 montage serving under their Jedi General. The movie doesn't really give any details on the Clones which is expected the prequals are focused on telling the story of Darth Vader and not The Clone Wars but the Clone Wars TV show does dive deep into alot more area's the movies left out can't say anything without spoiling but the Clone Wars makes this era of Star Wars so much more interesting and does explain why the Clones were able to turn on the Jedi so easily after years of fighting along side their Jedi Masters turning it into my favourite time period. But yeah there's alot of story behind Order 66 and the clones. What to watch next Next i imagine you'll jump into Rogue One which is great i adore the film has a much more gritty and used look to the universe which carry's on into the amazing TV show The Mandalorian which is by far the best Star Wars created under Disney. Not a big fan of Solo but you may enjoy it love the look of it though just not the plot and my view on the Sequel movies is pretty negative but who knows maybe you'll enjoy them. But if anything I'd recommend Rogue One and the Mandalorian even more so than the sequel movies The Mandalorian is set 5 years after Return of the Jedi so it would be perfect to watch this before the sequel movies to me any way's it makes more sense Mandalorian first then the Sequels as their set way after Return of the Jedi. The Mandalorian has two seasons 16 episodes in total. Would also recommend watching it before you get spoiled as the show as a lot of aspects which just cannot go unseen in the Star Wars fandom more so than anything from the sequel trilogy. My recommendation order is Solo, Rogue One, Mandalorian, Episode 7, 8, and 9 On a side note at 21:47 this guy on the right is Captain Antilles who was the rebel ship officer Vader chocked in A New Hope. This is also the same ship Leia was on in the opening of A New Hope the Tantive IV which was a Alderaan Cruiser owned by her step father Bail Organa who was the guy who rescued to Yoda. Pretty cool that he was loyal to the Organa over 20 years later.

Anakin went from being a slave to being taken into basically a warrior cult. Then the people he loved the most died (his mom, Qui’Gon, Padme). He lost his kids. He was manipulated by Palpatine and abandoned by Obiwan. Anakin to Darth Vader is a story of PTSD at its worst.

Some info: The reason Leia is a princess is on Alderaan they have a monarchy. Her mother is the Queen, and her husband Bail Organia serves as a senator for Alderaan. Some viewers say that once the Vader mask clicks into place you can hear Anakin whisper "Padme", though I can detect it myself. C-3PO is mind wiped because he is a blabberbox. Originally for the scene right before Yoda tells them where to take the kids, you see him meditating. Liam Neeson was supposed to come back as the voice of Qui-Gon, but something happened in scheduling. I think Liam broke his leg. This is why Yoda tells Obi-wan that he has been in discussion with Obi's old master.

Bail Organa and his wife are actually nobility on Alderaan. That's why Leia is a princess. Darth Plagueis is Palpatine's master (Palpatine's Sith name is Darth Sidious, in case you didn't catch that), so he is in fact the apprentice from the "legend". There hasn't always been just two Sith. The one who created the Rule of Two is Darth Bane, who lived a thousand years before the films. He got his idea from a holocron, a device that stores data, left behind by Darth Revan, a Jedi-turned Sith-turned Jedi again who lived 4,000 years before the films. He had seen how many Sith had multiple apprentices, who would often join forces to overthrow their masters, which led to a lot of Sith knowledge getting lost. This isn't spoilers, by the way. I've got this information not from the films or shows, but from the vast amounts of books, comics and video games that makes up the expanded universe. The EU was decanonised by Disney, but it's so popular (amongst both fans and people who work at Lucasfilm) that I'm pretty sure that there's only a matter of time before most, if not all, of the old EU that is ancient legend is added back into canon. There's already pretty credible leaks that we're getting a remake of Knights of the Old Republic, the game that tells the story of Revan. PS: By the way, you need to watch The Mandalorian. Also watch The Clone Wars, if you don't mind animation. It's some of the best Star Wars out there, and The Clone Wars in particular will change how you view Revenge of the Sith. Rebels and The Bad Batch are also essential.

@@AwesomeUSMovies I never said that the jedi deserved to be killed. No they didn't deserve to die but their fall was necessary, the Jedi are incredibly corrupt and flawed. They are supposed to be peace-keepers and they're supposed to serve people but they allowed slavery and oppressive rulers to flourish in the galaxy? They kidnap children, manipulate them with their corrupt code and turn them into child soldiers. The Jedi aren't the angels you think they are, they are the biggest hypocrites in the galaxy.

My favorite part of watching people react for the first time to Episode III is seeing their reacting when Anakin pledges himself to Palpatine. My favorite so far is one where the reactor couldn't help it and blurted out, "Anakin! You motherf*****g idiot!" I think that if Obi-Wan had called him that more often a lot of problems would have been avoided. It's sad to think that Obi-Wan's love and compassion for Anakin kept him from finishing him off after he was defeated and he just walked away trusting that Anakin would die of his wounds, and that allowed Palpatine to save him and for what is basically Space Hitler to do all kinds of awful crap for the next 20 years. Leia is a princess because, much like Amidala who was a Queen of Naboo but also a Senator for the Republic, Bail Organa is a Viceroy and married to the Queen in Alderaan as well as a Senator in the Republic (later the Empire). And now you also know that Bail, along with Mon Mothma (the short haired woman leader of the Rebellion who appears in Episode VI when they're planning the attack on teh Second Death Star) and Amidala, basically founded the Rebel Alliance. That's why Leia was so involved with it too from a very young age.

Personally, this is my favorite of the prequel trilogy. I like the climactic duel between Obi-Wan and Anakin. I also like the backdrop of the planet that the duel takes place on. I was glad when they revealed that Senator Palpatine was Darth Sidious and would eventually rise to the role of Emperor in the original trilogy. Far better made than Episode I and Episode II.

Hi James! Been waiting for this one! This movie takes place about 3 years after Attack of the Clones. The Clone Wars animated series details many of the events of the war itself. 3:38 - Two things at once; Yes, one of the Jedi Knights is Anakin. He has been promoted to Jedi Knight at this point. Also, that is the predecessor to the Star Destroyer. 5:05 - That's General Grievous. He's not an android, he's a Cyborg. There's very little of his original biological parts left. He is basically Count Dooku's "second in command" of the droid armies. 6:06 - Fun fact: Anakin's line here, "His fate will be the same as ours." does come true. Obi-Wan dies on the first Death Star, Palpatine dies on the second Death Star, as does Anakin(who redeems himself when he saves Luke and kills the Emperor). All three of them die on a Death Star. 7:07 - Well, remember, Anakin already killed the Tuskin Raiders in anger. And not just the men.... but the women..... and children, too. 7:18 - Episode V. Unless you mean the one where Yoda didn't show up. 😉😁🤣🤣🤣 7:30 - As someone who has lost a spouse to ovarian cancer(my first wife, in 2006)... I can whole heartedly agree with you. Nearly 15 years later, AND remarried... I still haven't completely "let go". I have a small memorial place in my computer room, containing the urn my first wife's ashes are in, along with some pictures and some plastic roses near her urn. My second/current wife is so awesome, this little memorial doesn't bother her at all. THAT is how I know "she is The One" I will spend the rest of my life with. Before Rose(my first wife) died, she told me that "when the time is right, I will send someone to you, so you won't be lonely for the rest of your life." I had, at the time, recently gotten a tattoo of Rose's face on my chest, right by my heart, with the words, "Fur Immer", which is German for "Forever", right below it. My coworkers thought I was crazy to do that. They told me, "No woman is going to want to look at your dead wife's face on your chest." I replied with, "The RIGHT one won't mind." I was right. It doesn't bother Katina(my second wife) at all. In fact, she says that it's a statement as to my character, and loyalty to someone I love. Katina and I have our 10 year anniversary coming up next month(Sept. 9th). Rose died 15 years ago this month(Aug. 23rd). Sorry for the rambling, but it was relevant to that line. 7:40 - More like they get them as babies, and teach them that attachments are forbidden. If you think about it, that's a really twisted way of indoctrinating children into their religion. 8:10 - Here, we see Palpatine manipulating both Anakin AND the Jedi Council. Palpatine KNEW that he would drive a wedge between them, by appointing Anakin to the council, because the council selects it's own members(and you HAVE to be a Master to be on the council). By allowing Anakin on the council, but NOT granting him the rank of Jedi Master.... Anakin took it as an insult to him. Remember, his whole life, since he was 9 years old, he has been told that he's the "Chosen One". He has been both ostracized by his peers, and praised(yet held back) by those "above him"(teachers/masters). He is conflicted by emotions that he wasn't trained to let go of, because he didn't begin his training from birth. He had already developed attachments(to his mother, to Padme', to Qui-Gon, and to Obi-Wan), which are basically forbidden by the Jedi. 8:53 - Something to note here, because it's pretty subtle: As Anakin and Obi-Wan say their goodbyes, Anakin is standing in the shadows, and Obi-Wan is standing in the light. If you look for things like these, you will see them throughout the entire 6 movie (Lucas) saga. 10:58 - Palpatine used a "Dark Side" ability (Force Scream, I think it's called), to "shock" the other Jedi Masters temporarily. That's how he was able to kill them so quickly. Also, NOW I can tell you why Mace Windu has a purple lightsaber(canon/in universe reason): Mace taps into the Dark Side of The Force, without being corrupted by it. Blue + Red = Purple. The lightsaber form he uses is called Vapad(Vay-Pad), and it's use seeks out the flaws/weakness of his opponent. He is, at this point in Star Wars history, the only Jedi who uses both this ability, and this lightsaber form. I couldn't tell you this before, as it would have been a bit of a spoiler. 11:38 - Hold on.... a minute ago or so, you were BEGGING for a hand to be cut off! Now you're upset that a hand got cut off?! DUDE! 😉 12:00 - This, is Palpatine's REAL face being revealed. He had used a Sith ability to appear "normal", prior to this. While this isn't stated in the movie, it is revealed in other media. 12:20 - Okay, I know the question in your mind(you might ask it in a minute, but I pause when I add comments): Order 66 is one of the "Special Orders" embedded in a bio-chip installed/implanted in the Clone's brains during gestation. There are many of these "Special Orders". Order 66 was, to the Jedi Council's knowledge, put in place should a Jedi Knight/Master "go rogue", and become a threat to the Republic. What they didn't realize is that the order COULD(and as we see here, WOULD) be used against ALL of the Jedi, on a mass scale. And yes, there WAS a "Special Order"(Order 65, in fact) that would make the clones remove the Chancellor from office, should it be deemed necessary. Also, this "Bio-chip" thing is fleshed out more in the Clone Wars animated series(which, as I have said before, is canon). 13:19 - Younglings.... but yes, Anakin killed all of the children/younglings that were hiding in the Council chamber. He, and his Clone Troopers(The 501st) stormed the Jedi Temple, and executed Order 66. 13:50 - What Anakin said was true..... "from a certain point of view".... 😉 19:05 - Look again.... in one smooth motion, Obi-Wan cut off not only Anakin's legs, but his left arm, as well. But wait.... there's MORE! 19:43 - In a way, yes. Anakin is burned beyond recognition... but, not just outside. As you yourself noted earlier.... there are poisonous gasses within that lava. So, not only was Anakin burned on the outside, but also his lungs were severely damaged both from being burned as well as the gases he breathed in. That's why he needed the breathing mask, as well as the entire suit, to keep him alive. When the Emperor's Force Lightning shorted out his suit(as Anakin threw him down the shaft in Episode VI), he knew he was going to die. Without the suit, he could only live so long. The chamber from Episode V that we saw, allowed him to breathe pure oxygen. It was the only time he could survive without his helmet on. These are the things I couldn't tell you before. 21:27 - Correct. The Step-Brother of Anakin(Owen Lars). Probably the last place Anakin/Vader would look, as Tatooine held nothing but bad memories for him. He was a slave there(to Gardola the Hutt, then Watto), and he hated sand. Also, the Senator who took Leia in, was the Senator for the planet Alderaan... the planet destroyed by the first Death Star. Minor spoiler: If you watch the animated series Rebels, you'll see that Alderaan secretly funds Rebel cells. 21:56 - It's been said(though not confirmed) that it's R2-D2 that basically tells the story of the Skywalker family. Although, I find that claim dubious, as he is not present during every event detailed in the movies. However, he could have been told of the events he didn't personally witness. So, it's kinda up in the air. 22:10 - No, he's not a "king" per se'.... but he IS a member of one of the "royal families" of Alderaan. 22:25 - Oh, yes, they KNOW who Obi-Wan is.... however, as Obi-Wan stated, Owen didn't think Luke should get involved with the war, and certainly didn't want Obi-Wan to train Luke in the ways of The Force. Owen wanted to protect Luke from going down the same path his father had. That's why he treated him like he did. Granted, we don't know what details Owen knew, as far as Anakin goes... but in a way, his heart was in the right place. He wanted to protect Luke. 22:45 - We told you that Episode III was the best of the prequels. lol. But now you know WHY it's the "prequel favorite". Personally, I rank it up there with Empire Strikes Back, and Rogue One as my favorite Star Wars movies. That should say a lot about Rogue One. You should do Solo: A Star Wars Story, next.... THEN Rogue One(that's how they go in the timeline). I know you want to get away from Star Wars for a bit.... and that's fine..... but when you get back to it, Solo, then Rogue One(and trust me when I say this: You'll want to watch A New Hope right after Rogue One.... they are a great "double feature"). I know, I know... you've SEEN Episode IV.... but trust me..... Rogue One runs right into A New Hope, and when I saw Rogue One in theaters, I hauled ass home, and watched A New Hope right away. I pretty much refuse to watch one without the other, these days.... and I saw the original in theaters back in 1977.

I pretty much refuse to watch one without the other, these days.... and I saw the original in theaters back in 1977. As for some other movie suggestions.... I have to offer up some that no other reaction channels have done so far(this will set you apart from the rest). I have to start with The Black Hole(which is on Disney+), partially because it came out just 2 years after Star Wars(in 1979), but also because it was Disney's very first PG rated movie. I saw that one in theaters, as well... and have loved it ever since. From a "science" standpoint, it's not very accurate, but the story is pretty good. At the time, we didn't know a whole lot about Black Holes.... so we just accepted that the story could actually happen. We have since learned much more, including what exactly a Black Hole is. But just "suspend your beliefs and knowledge", and let the story take place. Fanboys, is another obvious suggestion. The original Planet of the Apes movies(1968-1973) have never been done, to my knowledge... (Planet of the Apes, Beneath the Planet of the Apes, Escape from the Planet of the Apes, Conquest of the Planet of the Apes, and Battle for the Planet of the Apes). I've seen the new trilogy done, but not the original 5. The Omega Man(the second adaptation of "I Am Legend", the most recent of which starred Will Smith, and the first adaptation starred Vincent Price), starring Charlton Heston, Anthony Zerbe, and Rosalind Cash. Logan's Run(1976) is a classic, though the FX are a little dated. Starring Michael York. Firefox, starring Clint Eastwood. Real Genius, starring Val Kilmer Cool Hand Luke, starring Paul Newman, George Kennedy, Harry Dean Stanton, and Struther Martin Red Dawn(1984), starring Patrick Swayze, C. Thomas Howel, Lea Thompson, Charlie Sheen, Jennifer Grey, Harry Dean Stanton, and Powers Booth, Bad Boys(1983) - Starring Sean Penn Best of luck with the channel, James! I'll be sticking around, and helping you in the ways that I can!

Anakin had to become the embodiment of total evil when he turned to the dark side. Nothing he had done up until the killing of all the young Padawans was bad enough, in my opinion. When he slaughtered the innocent children who were training to become Jedis he crossed a line that he could never return from - until he renounced the Dark Side once and for all and saved Luke by killing the Emperor to save his son. That was his way back and his redemption. In a way, it was Luke’s belief in him that helped him get there.

There is a ton of truth to this episode of the Star Wars Saga. First, the path to dictatorship from democracy always starts with a revered/respected leader in war time who have thoughts of grandeur and so refuses to let go of their power -- Julius Caesar, Napoleon Bonaparte, Adolf Hitler, Vladimir Putin. It makes you appreciate even more the likes of George Washington, who by choice would have had an easy chance of winning a 3rd and even a 4th term as president but stopped at 2 terms. Second, sometimes a split-second decision can have a life-changing effect on you as a person. Anakin's life would have been very different if he choosed to stay on the Jedi tower. Third, its never too late to change course while we are still alive. Darth Vader/Anakin choosed to save Luke in the end.

Thought of a few more movies for your list: Batman: Mask of the Phantasm, The Terminator (1&2 are the only ones worth watching), The Conjuring, Poltergeist, Treasure Island, 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, Willow, Men In Black, The Addams Family (the ones from the 90s, please), Coraline, The Nightmare Before Christmas, Beetlejuice, Edward Scissorhands, The Neverending Story, Ed Wood, The French Connection, and for Thanksgiving, please watch Planes, Trains, and Automobiles. I may have more soon.

if you share this experience with a friend and they decide to take on this saga, please recommend the "machete" order. 4=>5=>1=>2=>3=>6. When you think about it, vader as the father is revealed, then let's take it back and see what happened in the prequels, then back to 6 to see how it all ends. Just a thought. Loved the video.

This is my favorite Star Wars movie. I actually watched 1-3 in theaters then purchased the Original Trilogy and watched them immediately afterward. I’m one of the few that watched the Star Wars films in sequential order, so the shock of Darth Vader of being Luke and Leia’s father wasn’t shocking to me lol. I’m glad you watched them in release order. If I could go back, I’d do that instead.

I agree that Solo and Rogue One should precede 7, 8 & 9, simply because of the chronology. You just learned Vader's back-story as well as Obi Wan's. Learning Han Solo's & Chewbacca's back-story will amplify the story-line of the Disney sequels. Rogue One bridges the gap between episodes 3 and 4, ending just minutes prior to the beginning shots in episode 4.

Hey man, I highly recommend you check out the clone wars tv series. I’m sure you’ve heard it from others before but it is an amazing show and it really helps to answer questions and tie episode 2 to 3. It also does a lot of character building for anakin, making his turn to the dark side MUCH more convincing. Also, people love to see new Star Wars fans react to the show, so it would be a great way to get a lot of high interest content for your channel :)
