I appreciate that to this day. Shadow was too big of a character not to get that treatment, its a shame for Knuckles tho

Yes there is a limit as long as sonic will atleast have 1 ring or up he can keep his form as long as he wants

Aside from the ring issue, I think the limit is somewhere just below the level of power someone gets from using something like the Master Emerald or the phantom Ruby. Or anything else that powerful.
