It's the reality of the game. High Plat / Low Diamond is probably one of the harder ranks to escape. You can have one compelling game, and then the next is a total shit show like the one is this video. Where you question everything, and how people are in this rank.

One thing Awkward seem to forget is that at lower ranks hero choice matters as well. The Tracer at 15:00 which he put in Dia based on mechanics and movement said she was stuck in Gold. Reason for that might just be that Tracer just scales badly before you get good, as even Gold players can survive that damage, and they don't react enough anyway to capitalise on distraction. If that dude played Soldier or Reaper with those mechanics he'd easily reach Plat or Dia.

i don't agree. as a tracer in low lobby, you could easily get the enemy team one by one as their healers are not good enough to react in time. As a low gm player, I could easily get 30+ kills and 25+ fbs in gold or plat lobby when my teammates get 15 or 16 kills at most.

@@ChippyWrong It's true though, the ranks are actually roughly 2 ranks apart because console is inferior. The top ranks on console are also held mostly by m&k players using xims for obvious reasons.

@@cagxplays9602 I'd like to point out that it's just the hardware that's inferior. The players are usually equal in skill. I say this as a gm on pc and masters on console due to ximmers running most lobbies. Lower ranks aside, I'd compare the average Masters console player to an equally skilled Masters PC player in terms of game sense and mechanics.

if you read closely they said the game was D4, but they are M1 right now. So It's a bit more believable if it was Low Diamond. But yeah there is ZERO chance that was an actual Masters 1 Lobby. And there is no way they ranked from D4 to M1 playing like that without getting boosted unless they went on the craziest lucky win streak of their lives

The second game is WILD for plat 2 LOL!!! When he guessed the bap was bronze I was completely in agreement. Thing is though if its console, everyone is aiming with their thumbs ... We evolved to use our fingertips for precision the thumbs are for holding lol. Makes sense to me .. I cant aim on console.

@4:00 Plat is a total shitshow. Unfortunately, because of placements people get placed into mid gold-low plat. Natural fluxuation means those go up and down naturally for quite a few games before either climbing or falling to lower ranks. The individual skill level between people varies greatly between players. You also consistently get people who can aim mid plat where people playing lower skill characters are suddenly punished only because people hit shots. Moira is one of the biggest offenders because until then most players just cant hit her when she 'dives forward' with fade, or a bastion gets value 50% of the time because people walk into his turret form.

It also speaks to his theories being mostly BS and his own experiences being skewed because of his mechanics being so far above metal ranked players that he could mess with his own sensitivity settings and still slap metal ranks in pure aiming 1v1s. The denial of the D4 game with the now M1 soldier makes it even clearer. It is not that people in GM and top 500 are the smartest lot around, it is that their mechanics ARE so superior that they can get away with strats that lower ranked people never could. They are also playing with people who likewise have such superior mechanics that they can get healed and shielded in ways they NEVER would in lower ranks. The main reason they don't need GM level help when doing unranked to GM is because their mechanics allow them to kill the enemies before they would need the extra help, and the enemy will have healers with bad mechanics as well, so they don't get healed enough or in time to neutralize someone like Awkward aimbotting them into the ground. In other words rank does NOT equal game intelligence. Mechanics would be a much better tell although yes, it is not the sole factor at play. There IS still a game flow to lean into obviously.

Why are you only focusing on how good awkward and his teammates would be in high ranks, and completely ignore how the enemies would be just as good and would instantly punish stupid strats despite them having good mechanics? You also then talk about how bad the enemies would be, completely ignoring how his teammates would be the same when he does an unranked to gm, and so despite the enemies not being able to get much help, he wouldnt be able to either, but he doesn’t need it, not because of his superior mechanics, but better positioning and timing. Mechanics are important, sure, but gamesense is much more pivotal. Awkward has done unranked to gms on brig and (im pretty sure) moira, many have done unranked to gm on mercy, and for god’s sake, people have done unranked to gm on rein without shield, and unranked to gm on winston with no hud, no sound, low resolution. All characters that don’t require much mechanics at all. Keep trying to mindlessly and hopelessly improve your aim when you could rank up so much more easily just by using your brain even slightly

Thats why we see total garbage of a player even in plat and diamond or pure average player in masters Thats why u can see real good player stuck in gold Ngl im not some master player but what I saw many times in youtube videos from that rank sometimes Im really asking out loud "How it can possibly can be masters while even poor plat punishes hardly for such moves" U know that vids where some master symm goes flanking and just burns the whole team to dust without them paying a slightest attention to her for like whole minute Smurf's are making it even less reasonable. When u play in silver or gold or whatever and forced to fight some crazy Ashe or Widow who are hitting 70% of their shots 50% critical. Its ok, youre getting better playing vs stronger opponents but that still makes ranked and ranks below gm just some useless trash. Awkward says "Cant be masters" I say "yes it May be masters" That Hog from the start from which he guessed masters gameplay. I swear I dont even see any Roadhog that wouldnt do the exact same things in gold

You couldn't properly guess my rank on tank by my gameplay, you'd have to observe others. 40-8 gold 5, I track abilities and ultimates so I now who to pressure and when. I have proof me doing so for 2 hours without one incorrect call of who has what.

Pple r so critical on a 5sec clip. Bro, I've had moments where I couldn't hit a shot to save my life and moments I literally kill the whole team alone in the same match. If you took a 5 sec clip of me missing everything you could say I'm dogshit. The inverse is true. So calm ur tits.
